I could've wrote a funny poem, a funny story, or maybe even put a funny picture in here, but instead I decided to write something that actually means something to me, so it may be long, but I hope you'll stick through.

To whom it may concern,

I live on long island in new york, and ever since the first time I put skis on when I was three, I was hooked. It took about 7 years, however, to go skiing again, and this time I wanted to snowboard cause it was the cool thing to do. For the next three "seasons" (2 days) I snowboarded, and then finally in 2003 I switched to skiboards, and bought my

own pair. Of course right after I buy the skiboards, I learn that they were replaced by better performing twin tips, and I'm stuck with skiboards because I just dropped over $200.

Last year I went to winter park with my family for two days, and it was there when I first demoed a pair of twin tips. After a long day of skiing, I was dissapointed in finding out what I had been missing all of my years on snow. Skiing is what I am meant to do, and twin tips helped me to discover just how fun and creative skiing can be.

Unfortunately my parents wouldn't let me buy twin tips, because my skiboards were in great condition, and they just didn't understand. So last season I had to look ahead to this year, and dread having to use my skiboards.

This summer, however, my life was changed forever. On the way home from bringing my sister up to college, a man fired at our car, one bullet hitting my dad, and later killing him. Besides playing baseball, skiing was the thing that my dad and I both had a passion for, and when deciding between a carribean cruise, or a few days of skiing, we would always choose skiing.

The death of my dad has lead me to make the decision to finally look into buying a pair of twin tips, so I can once again feel the joy I had riding with my dad at winter park. The first time I went skiing this year, I took the first few runs by myself. Although alone, I felt more comfortable and at ease than I ever had skiing before. I couldn't see or hear him, but I could feel my dad skiing alongside me. Once I had realized what a great feeling skiing was bringing to me again, I knew I would need more days on the hill.

This winter I skied 4 more days than I ever have before, bringing my total to 6. 6 days of skiing, although very short, allowed me to go back to better times of being together with my family. 6 days I could really feel my dad's presence. 6 days is not enough.

As I come to realize my obsession for winter and skiing, I'm beginning to plan out my future and what other states, or even countries, this passion will bring me to. For now, however, I'm stuck in this topographically challenged town on Long Island which only allows me to get a few days of skiing each winter.

When I first found out about summer camps for skiing, I was

absolutely blown away. Never before had I even thought of skiing in the summer. Then watching the videos of the insane parks put together for these camps just blew my mind. I thought to myself "What do I have to do to get into one of these camps?" Then I saw the price, and the truth hit me

hard. I would have no chance of going.

With your help, however, I would hope that the few more days of skiing at a summer camp would once again bring me that feeling of closeness with my dad, and allow me to truly be with him again.

Thanks for sticking with me for the entire story, and thanks for giving me a site to go to everday and forget about everything except my true passion: skiing.

I want to go to SUMMER CAMP!

My reason's are simple:

The east simply didn't get enough snow and i only got to ski 2 days on the west. My hope is to be able to ski more this season in order to fulfill personal needs as well as get dope shots for Stept Productions movie and 4bi9. I havent had the opportunity to gather all the footage due to this weather condition as well as a fall I had mid season. Breaking my eye socket in a few spots, my sinus membrane wall and bruising my right heel bone has also set me back. Here are some pics that i took during my time off of my boys.... to keep me busy as well as a few pics from the overshoot at Waterville that caused my crash. Please let me get to summer camp! I want to

be in the pictures and learn learn learn, as well as take advantage of such a dope contest. Thanks thanks

Ok. I really wanna go to the coc,

im 13 and cant work yet and my dad says he wont pay. i need at least 1.5k in order to go but itll be impossible for me to make that money for the coc this year. i wanna hit the "dance floor" box sooooooo bad and really want to improve my skillz. i think it would be sooooo sick to make a edit on the macs where i could get no hate from the peeps on ns. i just got the pamphlet thing in the mail and it looks like the most epic camp of all time!! and also it would be so sick to learn from pros because ive never taken a lesson in my life and really need some cuz i want to throw down harder.

so if you could hook KingTaco (my ns name) up with that free camp entry it would be super steezed

ps: my name is KingTaco because i love tacos and it would also be really sick if i could try some mexican food in the whistler area.

peace out

How could you possibly not enter?

Especially when so many people complain about how expensive summercamp is.... get on it!

is this part really true about winning the competition? i found it in the rules and regulations page.

"Before being declared a winner of any prize, an entrant who is a resident of Canada must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question."

JimmyOB. should win this!!!!!

kid skis no matter what, even if he has to pretend he has skis on his feet. He has been wanting to go to a summer camp for ever!!

dude are you serious? he hasd like a 5 page thread about it. some gang member or something would shoot only people driving in red cars, and sadly enough, his dad was the chosen one.

r.i.p. for your dad man

The kid who loses his dad should win for sure. Even if he is making it up (which it doesn't sound like he is), he put so much more into that than any of the other entries.

Pick Brady Perron, kids the man. He got screwed this year at WV like his entry said. He couldn't ski for most of the year so it sucked completely. He deserves it more then any of the other entries for sure. Oh ya, he also slayyyys it soooo hard. Sw 9 no ski to flat, ya brady.

Personally I think this should go to someone who no way can afford the camp and it doesnt mean they have to "slay". Thats why you go to camp. And this Brady went to Waterville right? haha, thats like an elite ski school and he cant afford a camp? right.....

Waterville isn't just a school you fuckin idiot...he just skied there one day and got broke off. he's riding on older equipment than probably anyone else that entered cause he can't get new shit really. so don't talk about shit you don't know man.

yeah conceptkid, i hope your joking man, brady could barley afford to ski at WV for one day, hes a local at sunapee and is just the man, he deserves this trip a lot, hes a super nice kid too

that is probably one of the dumbest things i've heard. you're saying because someone can do a trick, they shouldn't go to camp, and someone who can't do a trick should. no matter who you are camp is a place to learn, not matter how good you are. no matter how many tricks you can do there's always lots of other things to learn. so just because one kid can do bigger tricks than the other doesn't mean he should be counted out for being good.

yeah i see where you're coming from. my bad. i was just sayin to give noobs a chance to become un-noobs. but like you said, although some may already be good, theres much more to learn.
