Which Video Camera?

Wattup NS!

I was thinking about starting my own video production company.

Just wanted to know what video cameras you guys use and what you think is best fit for filming ski videos.

+k for helpin me out yo

I would definitely go for a go pro, they are good quality and well priced. If you want something with better quality, more settings, and an all around more professional looking video I would have to recommend a Canon t2i or t3i. There are other cameras similar to those two with the same quality and lower prices. If you are going to start a production company, you will need a good camera that is very good quality, now in time nobody will watch a flip camera video :p Hope this helped. And for everyone disagreeing, trust me, I know that Canon t2i's and 3's are very good cameras for ski and snowboard filming.

First off, don't just jump into the industry by saying "YO, ME AND MY FRIENDS ARE GONNA MAKE DOPE EDITS AND WE'RE GONNA FILM SHIT AND I NEED A CAMERA HELP ME OUT!" Filming is a lot harder than it looks, or at least to make quality material.

Second of all, don't listen to the idiot above me. Yes, GoPros are fun and I own one myself, but if you actually would like to take film-making seriously it's a poor choice.

Thirdly, don't listen to people who say "GET A T2i MAN!"

Fourth, Go to Media and Arts, not SG.

everyone has their own opinions, a few guys I know have a production company kind of, and they use t2i's and nikon d700's and canon 60D's. But whatever it's your opinion man haha, don't have to get mad over a silly question for someone who has never actually been introduced to the "industry" in a way.

He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about in terms of video, and a DSLR takes a little prior knowledge how to run a camera rather than just pressing record. I use a 60D myself, and I love it, but it is NOT the way to go with beginners.

Hey man, check out the media and arts forum, 1337 posted a thread that had a nice list of questions. fill that out and make a thread in media and arts and we'll help ya out. Sound good?

I know sorry man, i didnt say what i meant properly, i meant those are cameras he should look into. But get a decent camera like a Canon SX30IS, something relatively cheap and a extremely easy camera to use, or just a handheld camera like a vixia, wow all canons, but good begineer to expert camera companys are canon, nikon, and etc. Get something decent to see if you will make it.

Yeah once you fill that questionnaire out we will help.

however, PLEASE PLEASE do not 'start a production company.' Nothing will make people hate you more than putting '_____ productions, ______ media, etc.' at the start of your beginner level video. Because A. you are clearly a beginner (not that there's anything wrong with that of course! we all start somewhere), and B. it won't be a 'company.' Forget the idea of a name and production company altogether for now. Focus on learning how to film and put together awesome edits. Over time, you can start to make a name for yourself and that's when putting an official name on your work is appropriate. otherwise it just seems amateur. no hate, just helpful advice.

grind edit is a perfect example

horrendousness at every aspect, yet they have a website SPONSORED BY LINE.

whoop whoop

you couldn't be more wrong. Kid needs some help, im always pretty helpful when it comes to camera stuff. Im only an ass hole when kids are fucking idiots.

Make lots of edits with riders you ski or ride with, and when you start getting noticed via. youtube, vimeo, newschoolers and etc then you should think about stepping it up a notch, just have fun with it man, don't jump straight into it like some others said here.
