Which turf is best?

i went to my local home depot. and they had:

one turf that was cheaper, but had 2 layers (the green actual carpet part and rubber base holding it together)

another turf that was more expensive, but had 3 layers (green carpet part, rubber base holding the carpet part together, and a hard plastic(?) bottom base)

My question is: which would be better to buy? and why?

ok, so basically the only difference in the plastic base...



tell me why you would need a plastic base? unless your platform your putting it on sucks go for the cheap stuff, should be the same from what you said, and cheaper
 
I bought a ton of the cheapest turf (the black base).Some of the tiny little green pieces fall off sometimes if you pull apart the strings. but otherwise it is great and slides fine. I have never tried the other kinds though.
 
i didnt know if the more expensive on held the water better. like if the cheaper one the water just went through or not.

and the cheap one is like .35 cents/sq. ft. or something along those lines...expensive was around .55
