Which Software for .mts file

I just started getting into filming and bought a Canon hf m40 the other day and it uses an .mts file.

I searched and it looks like some people have trouble editing it or converting it.

I was wondering which editing software that I should get to edit an .mts file easily.

 
i used sony vegas for a while but i have since switched to premiere and the rest of the adobe creative suite. Premiere is a lot better than vegas
