Which Skiers Have the Best Music Taste?

What skiers have put you on to the most songs, your favorite songs? It can be a pro, it can be your best friend back home. For me I think it has to be Joona, always appreciated his skiing and the music he uses to compliment it

I would say it’s more of an editor thing unless you’re just referring to the abundance of Instagram skiers that will just post a reel and songjack from a street video or use trending audio songs. Even worse when it’s rap or something.

in that case, Shane mcfalls and Jake Strassman. No one uses better, more creative, underground songs in edits/videos. (For those of you who aren’t aware they’re the editors of the Line Traveling Circus series).

[tag=252179]@SenBilverglate[/tag] always has the best edit songs and has gotten me away from using rap in my edits

Most Gutter - Strictly : favorite selection, some all time favorite songs for me.

Revolver - PBP : shaped my tastes

Alex Hackels real ski got me into a rabbit hole that made me like old Finnish folk music.

JP auclairs famous Street segment in Trail, BC got me into LCD Soundsystem.

Tom Wallish's tribute to him solidified the Avalanches for me as.

Always wanted to the Young Fathers used in an edit or film. Or more songs with glockenspiels and bang Bang gun sounds.

For real, who else will ever put an e40 track and a CCR song in the same movie lol

For real dude. Those movies capture what freestyle skiing is all about IMO

I'm gonna go strictly because they use a lot of electronic / house music which is a genre don't really listen to so they have put me on to a ton of music.

I have 90% of CL songs saved in my Playlists but most of them I already knew so gonna give it to strictly just because of how many songs they've put me on

Also shoutout magma for using really good songs as well, little more poptimist but it always works so perfectly with the filming and riding

You know you’re on NS when there’s a thread with a bunch of retards who can’t develop their own taste in music

Shane Mcfalls has great music taste, wish he still made more edits. Khai Krepela had good songs in his park edits, very 2014 hesh. More recent the Paakku guys had good music in their last 2 street videos.

tbf there’s still plenty of heat. denzel’s new joint is fire, both jid and mick jenkins ‘s last albums were also top notch. mainstream tho totally agree

That’s some of the stuff I could get behind. Rappers who made it over from the 2000s or 2010s. Some but not all.

I got to put Henrik/Noah, I just love the style of rap that they play. It’s definitely not for everyone but I love it ? shout out WestSide boom boom boom boom!

Shane McFalls for sure. I've gotten so much music from those earlier seasons of LTC.

I also used to love STEPTs soundtracks. The 86 is probably my fav ski movie of all time and the music is super ethereal and fits the vibe so well. Serious but not intense. The also used a Kendrick song before he totally blew up which is kinda cool.

It’s not I genuinely have found so much music that I love because of these guys. It’s definitely not everyone’s style and I know the whole gangsta stuff is kinda cringe, but I enjoy it. So I gotta give props to them.

Respectable then I was a little harsh on my reply lol. But If you like it then you like it, just my personal opinion that I think they’ve over done it with the whole gangster thing and that had its place in the past. Doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re amazing skiers, I just would love to see them at least venture outside of that genre of music in their videos.

That gangsta larpping is way too much. Legendary dude but it's something that should be in the past. Fellow kids larp hippies and happiness instead of that gangsta shit.

Soundtrack to Zootspace was superb. Along those lines, Ben Bodett has similar taste.

Hardly hear the Dead in skiing so this edit paired with the creative skiing was stunning:

I've always liked Freed's taste. He mixes / djs now - check out his soundcloud.

Skiing needs more deep house / dub techno - here's a mix

I think it's not even a hot take to say that Strictly has the best film discography in skiing history.

Ferdi the most underrated editor right now. All the capeesh videos and jib leagues are full of banger soundtracks. Owen Dahlberg and Strictly of course too. They all use a good mix of different genres and unfamiliar and familiar songs

Level 1 or Nimbus imo. I'm an oldhead though

A valid take but to me it's the bunch. People seem to have a less favorable view of them now but they had a crazy run of street videos

Ryan you definitely don't actually believe that "bad genres" exist let's be real. I know what you're trying to say but let's keep it a buck hahaha

That’s exactly what I’m trying to say. Moreso subgenres. Genres are too broad these days but it’s definitely safe to say some sub ones suck ball hair.
