Which resort? thread

My gracious father has brought it to my attention that he wants to fly to Colorado sometime around Feburary 16th. We would fly into Denver and get a car and such. Which resort is recommended?

It will prolly be my weekend warrior parents, partial-steeze lil' brother, and myself.

I really just want an all around resort that showcases all aspects. I'm from the east coast so i wanna see tha best of tha west i guess. Not 100% park skiing at all, just a fun one that i wouldn't have to break my back with considering i come from a 90% rails resort.

Basically just cool park, some family runs, steeps, maybe. . . . .maybe. . . .

Powder?

Where i come from we only semi-understad that word. So i'd like to be impressed.

Thanks! +k

I've only skied Vail and Beaver Creek since I got here, but Vail by far has the most terrain out of the two. the back bowls are awesome for powder skiing. their park is mostly rails, but decent ones. I mean they have a jump line but its nothing like Beavers, and Im sure nothing at all like Key or Brek. Id say if you were to go to one place go to Vail, but thats just me.

haha yeah if you lap Colorado super chair all day. Its like any other mountain, you gotta know where to go.

Breck is pretty flat...there is fun stuff to be found, but not really anything that is hard...

That being said, go to vail, you won't be dissapointed.

In all honesty anywhere you go in the Summit County area is going to fulfill those needs. Maybe not A-basin or Loveland, but most everywhere else you will enjoy.

I'd say Vail. It has everything and the park really isnt that bad. If you want to ski park Beaver creek Is real close and could go there. There so much to ski there and Breck is only a half hour away.

about the same as everywhere else. I wouldn't do Steamboat though, it is great skiing, butif there isn't new snow when you go it is lame...

Winter Park
You have their park and decent skiing, but you can ski over to Mary jane for greatness. Steeps, bumps etc....
Its two mountains in one.

fuck denver fly into durango hit up purg... ah i mean durango mtn resort, wolf creek and teluride.

im gonna stir the pot here and sudgest Utah... here is my reasoning, i started my day in MN and by 1pm i was skiing in PC.... sooooooooooooooooooooo much more accesible than CO.. just IMO though, and dont get me wrong CO is fucking sick, its just a shit ton of driving and hassle for a weekend... if you have a longer ammount of time, ide definitly hit CO, vail, summit county...

o and if you bring a boarding pass from the day you arived PC, deer valley, or the canyons will give you a free ticket for the rest of the day.. (just check out the specifics, its called "quick start")
