I like him, but Wiz's lyrics are basically the same in every song.

I also like him, but Rick Ross has the same Lex Luger type beat in every song. He changes it up a bit sometimes, but if you just scratch the surface of his music, you will find the same songs over and over again. I'm not saying this is a bad thing because I enjoy listening to Rick, I'm just being honest.

i love wiz, mac, and rick ross but you're right haha

a lot of it is that what they're rapping about and what the beats are sell and are fun to listen to so they don't have a reason to change it up. occasionally they'll have a few songs that change something up. to use mac as an example, he has a couple songs about family members (poppy and i'll be there) and the song play your cards right has an oldschool feel. imo too many people worry about the artists they listen to being 100% original when that's absolutely impossible. listen to what appeals to you and if it starts to feel stagnant, listen to something else

I think there are different levels of mainstream. Radio mainstream for the most part is garbage like all the shitty house beats but keep in mind Outkast is considered mainstream and they are one of the best hip hop duos of all time, and back when Speakerboxx/The Love Below came out they were battling themselves every week at the number one spot on the radio.
