Which mount for arv 96

i see a freestyle mount and a factory recommended mount. does anyone have experience with both and can give me some insight on how different they feel? i bought the skis to hopefully get into more park skiing, but i don’t know how much all mountain capability i’m giving up if i go with the freestyle mount. i’m more willing to give up park capability than all mountain basically. if it helps at all for recommendations, i think i’m leaning towards 70% all mountain and 30% park, if even that. being able to butter and throw small 3s on side hits is more important than sliding rails and stuff.

i could be totally wrong but i feel like both mounts could work for what i want, just wanna hear people’s opinions, maybe one mount point is gonna work better for me

I had The same skis this season mounted at Factory recommend. I say If you ride More all mountain go with The Factory recommend. You can still hit rails and jumps with that mount.

I mounted at freestyle recommended, although I do even less park than your 30%. I just like a more centered mount in general - I like the balanced feel. With that mount it carves great, pops great, so not much issues on piste and side hits, never felt my balance tipping forward (as it happens sometimes on my Blends mounted at pretty much the same mount point). Forests however - not as good, but that is mostly due to the very stiff tails which do not do well in tight and uneven terrain.

So if you plan to do a lot of off-piste in variable terrain I would say factory, otherwise the freestyle mount is better for playfulness.

good info, thanks

recommended in your case for sure. either will be fine but it's armada, don't worry about the rec mount being way back, it's not. you'll have absolutely no issue in the park and doing the switch with that mount, whereas the more centered mount will affect your turning and fresh snow performance a little. rec 100% i say

sick, thank you

It's a freestyle-oriented ski, I would mount it accordingly (closer to center). Especially bc your goals are more park skiing, nose butters, and 360's, all of which mounting closer to center helps with.

I don't know a whole lot about the arv 96, where are the mount points? For your purposes a mount point of around 3-5 cm back from center sounds pretty good. I'd err on the side of the more rearward mount as you said 70% all mountain. Like someone said, its an armada so it'll be a pretty forward mount regardless. Not sure? Split the difference and mount inbetween
