Which line skis are (were) these?

sorry, don't have pictures. if someone found a picture, that'd be tight.

they were pretty much all gray, had the same sparkly style clear topsheet that the orange 1260s had, they also had the same logo that the noses of the orange DJ 1260s had, but i think they were bigger than the 1260.

anyone here have any idea?

the darksides? i think pollard uses them in some shots in his propaganda segment. they have like a dark tree/branch thing going on?

i have the skogens that are dark blue sparkly with a ship on the tails, i can post a pic this weekend when i visit my dad if that helps.. i have a pair of those and the orange 1260s lying around

im having a remarkably hard time finding pics of the 2000ish line...line of skis

definitely could be darksides although for some reason i thought darksides were the non-full twin model...unless they changed them? or maybe i'm just confused and the ones i'm thinking of didn't have a full twin.

and yeah, we've been searching for photos of pre 2002 lines and the only ones we've really found are dragons and orange 1260s

im pretty sure the darksides had a full twin... but back then a good number of pros did use skis with tails that werent as high as the tips so im not sure. check out pollard's propaganda segment.. the darksides are the ones with a grey and white base he's using when he does that dope hip/QP transfer

and when you say the same line logo as the orange 1260s, you mean the one that spells line by drawing the negative space?

Line Darkside. Full twin, really basic Grey top, and sandwhich construction first year (similar to the 1260 & Dragon).

Second year, it had a full twin, dark blue top, and cap construction, then after that it was made into a flat tail I believe.

Can't seem to find any photos though...

Believe this was the first season....

and these were the second season Darkside...

damn you guys are awesome. and scott ^ i'm shocked you were able to find that picture we've looked through pages and pages of google images all morning trying to remember what they were. does caylor still have them/is he trying to sell them?

Good lord. Do want. If anyone has a pair of these or knows anyone with a set please let me know. I am trying to put together a collection of the first two years of line skis.

Yeah, it didn't seem like google had anything. Just took me a few minutes of looking through old NS threads and there they were.

As for Sam, I believe he sold them back in 2007 or so.

here's an idea that i can't fully try out right this second cause im at work..

you know those sites or whatever that allow you to view a website or page as it was in the past, say 5 years ago? from archives..

i wonder if it's possible to do that to getboards.com or lineskis.com and find the full line ups that way..?

just came across this... I still ski the darksides with the space man. They have a pretty flat tail. I had a pair of the grey ones first, and the sandwich started to delaminate. Remarkably, line swapped out a new pair of darksides for me! The ones I have now (spaceman) are made in Canada.

there’s a little dad update. On to more sleeping threads!

i'm such a fuckin idiot for selling my orange 1260s (with the DJ) at some point

I still have mine and the craziest part about them is the size. i’m pretty sure they only came in a 164 and they’re SO thin and light. I rode them when I was like 13-16 years old, it’s wild to think they were also used by full sized adults. I feel like they’d immediately snap in half if I skied them today

Anybody still looking for a set of grey Line Darksides? I know where 2 pair are and he may be willing to let a pair go. DM if interested and I will see if I can make it happen.

Not as cool as the OG twintips but my line ski board still hang out in the garage proudly displayed. The weapons are terrifying on anything firm without the edge underfoot, the pros have a 3 pin tele mount under the line binding so someone was getting real sketchy on them as some point.

that's so epic haha. I had a pair of weapons as well, the last time I took them out was probably 2010 and I had the same thought. so fucking unstable. I was a small kid when I rode them but I have no idea how full sized adults kept their balance

Thats so cool. I miss my Mike Nick’s. I was obsessed with those things. I thought they had the coolest graphics I had ever seen.

I also had the reactor bindings briefly but that’s another story..

I didn't even know this archive existed... thank you! So rad to have these in one place.

that was a long day of finding and scanning before we switched offices ~4 years ago. I do wish there was a way to put them in order tho on issuu, either way. digital history!

You should just add them to the line site or hell put them all together in a printed hard bound book with some other historical content and sell it. I would for sure pick that up.

Omfg. Tele on snowblades. I didn't think there was ever anybody that pure in the world.

A friend who roller blades has those same weapons and he shreds them a couple times a year still.

i was obsessed with the MNPs, skiboard and skis, and mike nick himself

when i was 11, i messaged him on here asking if the prices on Line's site were for 1 ski or 2. to his credit he responded. the answer is 2!

I spent entirely too long looking at them one day and reminiscing

i feel like every ski from before 2010 is like that. Like Simon Dumont says 'the golden era'

987506.jpegI am so close. Still need the original white line 1260s and the first generation skogen sprang pro model with the pirate ships

Let me know if they show up!

I def will if I find them. They're the blue ship skogens by the way, I just noticed you mentioned the white 1260s as well
