Which Action Cam model?

About to buy a Sony Action Cam....curious which model you guys are using? Been looking on ebay...some good deals for some new ACtion Cams with a lot of accessories and mounts.

Been looking at either the AS200V, X10000, or the AS1VR.

I looked on their website and obviously there is some differences like GPS (which I don't need)...im just more interested in movie / sound quality. Iv been leaning towards the AS200V it seems like I can get a really good deal on one and they have pretty good quality.

Any opinions out there on them?
 
I have the v100 and I love it. Much lower profile than a box on your head. I mount mine directly to my googles using a modified contour mount. Works really well and give a better vantage angle IMO.

I can only imagine the v200 is even better.

Sweet....V200 it is! Could you post up / pm the details of your mount? I'm really only looking to do a POV edit this year. I really like the ones where you can see your skis / where your going. I find the pov edits where your skis come in/out of the picture very very annoying to watch. Let me know!

The one thing I don't like about the Action cam is the side mount...I feel like its kind of noticeable in the videos.

Is there any way to mount center on your helmet and get the same angle you captured?

Also, with the side mount, is there a way to mount it forward so your goggles don't show up in the video?

The default mount for sony is on the bottom. You can mount is just like a go pro if you wanted. I just hate having something protruding off my head. Also, mounting at eye level gives your a more "realistic" vantage point.

I took this Contour google mount and modified it to attach to the sony case (plastic weld). It can only move so far forward so that's why you see the goggles frames. Personally I don't really mind seeing the frames in the shot.

Also, the action cam is splash proof outside a case. Sage c just has his taped directly to his google strap with no case.
