i got back last night, and I hate it here, I want to go back. What a fucking cool (but short... not quite 3 weeks) trip. I saw just about everything you can imagine....

eiffel tower, helicopters upside down, airliners doing aerobatics, the alps, the french country side, the mediterranean, an atlantic surf town.

I had never had any plans on going to France ever, it just never appealed to me. But chasing a girl and going to see airplanes got me over there, and I fell in love. I could live there. It is the BEST country I have ever been to, I didn't meet a single rude person, everyone was absolutely so nice and friendly, and its just such a beautiful country.

I wish I took french in high school. All I've got is bonjour and je ne parle pas francais. Got me around just fine though!!!!

I took thousands of pictures, but after deleting crap ones etc, I have a total of 992 pictures. Fucking crazy, I want to go back now.

wow sean, thousands of pictures in three weeks? crazy stuff, but very cool! grant and i are going to europe next summer. we'll be backpacking and stuff, should be awesome....but you were chasing a girl?

well yeah, kinda, haha. Tina (see jet photo above) is right now doing a 5 week aerospace program in Toulouse (aerospace capital of europe) and then she is doing wind tunnel research in nozzle thrust vectoring in Poitiers. She left at the end of May and won't be back until the end of september, so I had to go and visit her.

where are you guys going exactly? GO TO CHAMONIX!!!! I can't stress that enough, its the BEST place in the world.

I'll be going back to France not next summer, but the summer of 2007 (and 09, 11, 13, etc). The air show is every other year, and I'm going to make it a regular trip now.

oh yeah, and jet lag sucks, its 4:30 in the morning and i am bored.

I took a nap yesterday evening, and my dad comes in at 8 and he's like "SEAN, you gotta get up, Its saturday night you've been sleeping for 24 hours!" So I got all confused, then looked at my clock and it was still friday. You asshole, I said. He thought it was pretty funny.

yea I've been to paris twice.. I really wanted to go to south france but we didn't have time cuz but I agree that everyone was nice and it is a gorgeous country. I'm going back to england in sept and I will try to skip across the water to european mainland again. I think I might be visiting a friend in holland tho not sure yet.

Yeah, south France was amazing. I didn't get to see much of Paris, I was only in the city one day, the rest of the time I was out in Le Bourget which is the equivalent of south Seattle (like near Boeing Field). I don't really like big cities anyways, chamonix is where I will go when I'm retired.

i am in vienna right now. when i was watching tv, there was a webcam of it snowing somewhere in austria. pretty intense.

travelling is definitely one of the coolest things you can spend your money on..although i personally have problems with actually saving up the money

yeah, i got lucky on this trip. both my parents, and my buddy's parents have TONS of airmiles, so our airfair was completely free. and we stayed in piss-cheap ghetto ass places (the exception being chamonix). The most expensive place was $30 a night. Except chamonix, it was $150 a night.... ouch, but well worth it for the heated towel racks.

and all we ate was baguettes and ham.
