Where Ya Been?

Lets make this a nice clean thread, could be some interesting data. Curious about just where yall been, Ive spent probably less than 2 days at most of these places but here is my list. Sorry if this is a repost didnt do my research. Grew up in San Diego and instead of being a desert family or surfer family, we would pile into our honda odyssey (went through 3 of them, all 300k plus miles for you new dads out there) and my dad would get his XXL coffee and take us to a resort we never went to. Very blessed and lucky to have been able to make these trips. So this list isnt a weird flex, hope it leads to some cool mountain and park comparisons, or stories to share. Ill show you my list, if you show me yours.

Bear Mountain

Snow Summit

Mammoth Mountain (My heart)

Park City (Dank, probably cut in front of tommy wallnuts on a rail when I was twelve using the lips as jumps)

Deer Valley (Fucking Sick)

Alta (Road da magic carpet)

Snowbird (Got broke my arm as a 12 YO gaper and got my first and only tobaggan ride)

The Canyons

Northstar

Sierra at Tahoe

Heavenly

Squaw Valley

Kirkwood

Mt.High

Mount Bachelor

Horse Mountain (Spot near HSU above snowline where one could do some rail hiking or build a lil booter)

I honestly think that was the only way I was going to remember. In CO my second year I tried to make a point of getting to more spots. Always tough though. Ticket prices be wild. Actually had 3 free days lined up at Telluride, free place to stay, and 3 night run of awesome bluegrass. Unfortunately I got sick as fuck and didn't leave my apartment those 3 days.

But whenever I can find comps, or cheap enough tickets always trying to get to a couple new spots. Fucking stoked to ride squaw this weekend. Sucks when there's a mountain you want to ride, you live close, but you're poor as shit and tickets are $$$$$.

So many places I've always thought of riding but never made it to, but honestly probably most of the mountains I've ridden were like that at one point(if I'd heard of em)

That's the sick thing about something like skating. There's a fuck ton of free parks and you can just hit them all. Skiing is a little tougher on the budget but over time can get a lot in.

There's at least 5 more that aren't on that list. Mount Bohemia is the only one I can recommend taking a trip to. Terrain is unmatched for the midwest. Plus the past two years 300+ inches of snow.

Dude dont be such an asshole right away when clearly you didnt read it correctly to begin with. I put (Fucking Sick) next to deer valley, which means good where I come from. Then meant to change it to (Fucking sick) next to kirkwood but made a mistake, hence my correction. Then I literally state kirkwood is fucking sick and you somehow misconstrue that and become and instant prick. Not my fault I wanted to correct myself bud.

Newfoundland

White Hills
- Small, but really fun terrain. The chillest vibe. Park and snow conditions vary wildly from year to year.

Marble Mountain - A bit of a hidden gem. Awesome terrain with a big mountain feel in places. Hardly ever busy. Conditions can be super, but also can be the worst of the worst. Park varies from year to year but is often fairly inconsequential.

PEI

Mark Arendz Ski Park at Brookvale
- Tiny, and mostly pretty flat with one short pitch = low speed limit. Top to bottom park for endless laps. Small jumps and some weird rails but overall a solid park year to year. Also t2b snow X. Fun snake runs through the trees. Almost always firm to bombproof conditions. The smallest hill with the biggest vibe.

Nova Scotia

Ski Wentworth
- Fun skiing, good trees, good park and snowcross, often icy

New Brunswick

Crabbe Mountain
- Good park that use to be great, really fun skiing for a small mountain/large Hill. Trees are fun.

Poley Mountain - Usually icy. Park is inconsistent year to year. Haven't been in a long time.

Maine

BigRock Mountain
- Great terrain, can be very icy. Park is laughable despite valiant effort put in.

Sugarloaf - So much terrain for the East. Good park with lots of features. Something for everyone. Gets very crowded.

Sunday River - Pretty similar experience to Sugarloaf, but red.

Mt. Abram - It's been over a decade, but I remember it being a super fun small mountain.

Shawnee Peak - Again, over a decade since I was there. It was icy and crowded. Had a pretty big park for what it was.

Vermont

Okemo - Might be the busiest I've ever seen a resort be. Top to bottom park. It's been a while.

California

Mammoth Mountain
- Needs no explanation. Huge mountain, great weather, great terrain, great park

BC

Whistler - Has everything for everyone. Expensive and busy.

Big White - Big, largely flat resort. Fun park with its own triple chair. Fun tree skiing. Australians.

Phoenix Mountain - Small hill with a T-bar near the US border. Long access road. Fun terrain, fast laps and great vibes.Has night skiing, which is a rare treasure in the west.

Whitewater - A very special place. World class snow and terrain in a small package. The craziest slackcountry/touring options. An intoxicating experience. Park is unremarkable.

Red Mountain - Big, fun terrain. Park has its own T-bar. Thick fog while I was there prevented extensive exploration.

Revelstoke - Gnarly big mountain terrain everywhere you look. A real playground with great snow. Park is smallish but fun, with well constructed features.

Fernie - Superb snow. Lots of fun, playful terrain. Exploration pays off.

Alberta

Castle Mountain
- Driest snow I've experienced. Formidable big mountain skiing. Hardly ever busy. A unique experience.

Marmot Basin - Stunningly beautiful part of the world.

COP - Great park. Man-made snow. Crowds and training teams everywhere.

Pass Powderkeg - Like a piece of the east coast out west. Small and a bit janky. Has night skiing. Eminently lovable. Highly recommend.

Lake Louise - World class everything. Offers skiing on just about every aspect of the mountain. Beautiful locale. Expensive.

Finland

Ruka - Big resort infrastructure on a small mountain. Good snow, but groomers get icy. Park and locals need no explanation. Strong vibe.

Serena - Tiny hill with fun groomers, fast T-bar park laps, friendly and talented locals.

Talma - 5500 cm hill with a packed, stacked park and perhaps the most up hill capacity via T-bar anywhere.
