Where was park skiing invented?

I Remember reading on transworld that one of the first pipes was at breck but it was only for snowboarders. Slope was inspired by urban. The first park specific skis were made by k2 in 1996 and salomon 1080s came out in 97 but I'm not sure of the specifics on that one. I'd say it really started getting going around that time

Where did slopestyle skiing come from and when? I am talking about rails and jumps and halfpipe.

I remember skiing the pipe at gore in the mid 90s. Something like 96 maybe? Before that they had a snake run of berms. Also were some skiers in the park as soon as that opened. The pipe was "snowboard only" but I don't remember the park ever being that there.

Park skiing evolved over time. The skiboard and then the popularizing of the twintip were the big things that helped it take off. Pretty much as early as there was a feature to hit people were hitting it on skis. But that skiing didn't really resemble todays skiing.

Back then moguls was where it was at for freestyle skiing.
