Where was God?

Wow so true. If people ask things like this,

They must come to the realization that god hasn't saved lives all the time but if you truly believe in god then you will realize all the good he does. There will allways be evil in any society and there nothing you can do to stop it all you can do is try to prevent it

well spoken

This this this. We just gotta try our best as citizens of humanity to prevent things like this from happening.

i mean seriously. regardless if you believe in "God", christianity, a higher being, etc etc.

I think he points out a very valid point. when tragedies like this happen, people so quickly turn to "a god" or higher power and question it and ask "where is your God now??"

and all he is saying is we've done such a good job at getting rid of a God, that this is what happen when there is so much of a void of God. morality goes out the window..

and yes i agree with him that our culture has escorted god out at least where i live. i have been bitched at by 5 people this year for putting a nativity set out front of my house.

Ya that is redicilous. Being part of a religion is a positive thing. It gives you a path to follow on. It helps you sort things out in life and have good morales. Although I don't nesscicarily enjoy the service itself, I believe god and religion is a very good path to follow on

I never understood people getting pissed about these kind of things. Im not even religious really, but some people just find stupid shit to bitch about.

Ya seriously complaining about your decorations about religion. I would retaliate and set of loads of religious decorations!!

If my kid was gun downed the last thing I would want to believe in is an omnipotent god who watched my kid die and who had the power to do something about it but didnt.

If you get saved and don't die, we give all the credit to god. If you get a new job or a raise, we give the credit god.

But if people die, you get fire, kids go hungry why can't we blame God?

To me it just seems logical that if you're going to say he's all knowing, this is all his plan, and you give him all the credit for anything good, he should have to man up and take the fall for some of the bad.

I mean hell if a person builds somebody a house, gives somebody food, that's them, not god, people like to give credit to the wrong people.

Also similar situation with prayer. If you pray for something and what you asked for happens you thank God. If you pray for something and what you want and it doesn't happen you say "Well it wasn't in his will"

So if what you asked for happens it's God, but if it doesn't he just didn't want to.

That's logical.

whoever wrote those little text comments on the video was annoying as fuck. the point he makes is perfect that so many people want God out of schools, etc., but then when something terrible happens they blame him.

also this guy has a lazy eye.

Nice! Plus as I said earlier with or without god or a higher form of being, evil exists in any type of society and time or place. It impossible to stop evil and wrong doers like that. All we can do is try to prevent it And hope it never happens again.

Yet everyone must die at some point. Maybe that's the point when God decided to call your son home.

yea, if only we had the presence of religion and God to steer us clear of evil, just like the world did during the 1940s, and the early 1900s, and the 1860s, the 1770s, and between the years 1100 and roughly 1200!

like stated before, there is evil everywhere, its our mission as people with free will to do good or bad, their will always be bad in the world, and there will always be good in the world.

I have one moral challenge on this point. Answer me this if you think morality comes from the supernatural and we require celestial dictatorship permission for it.

Name me ONE moral or ethical action or statement that a believer can make that a non-believer cant. You can't.

Now if I asked you to name one wicked action or statement that could be made by someone attributable only to their religious faith you can immediately think of one. How about the actions committed by some of the most religious men in the country on september 11th.

fair enough, but you absolutely cannot claim these things are happening in modern times because religion is less popular.

For sure. Those comments were annoying as fuck. I def get his point and it's valid to an extent, but then he goes into more of the "let's find God in the situation anyway to prove he was there"

Sort of like the finding God in Aurora.

what do you think god is?

those religious men read a verse from the qur'an, which was calling them to defend their religion at any costs even if it meant death. so they warped their mindset into them thinking that they were doing something morally good. its a sad thing, that happened,

i really hoped that they figured out causing all this anguish and sadness at their last moments of life, they realized that it was not true and killing lives is not the correct way to protect their religion.

but in summary of mini rant, you are not understanding that people can have different morals.

i agree with that, but i also think that religion can help people who need help, depression, strange thoughts, or just feel lost in general.

but hey, they got their 72 virgins.

serious discussions without a little bit of humor are no fun.

Right, blame it all on the atheists and non christian based relgions. I guess that's fair. Religion should be separated from the law, just like it should also be separated from public schools. blah.

Well there's multiple religions. The people in the 9/11 attacks were Muslim and believed in Allah, this is a diferent god as compared to the Christain God. They were acting upon their religious beliefs and that is to destroy all non-believers in Islam and Allah, so what they did they believed was right.

Amadeus being the fucking man as usual. Well done.

I can't believe any of you actually think that because people have "phased out god" we have lost moral and increased violence. What a fucking joke. We do not get morals from religion. No one does. These are called human morals.

I know you can't absolutely claim it but look at what happened to Sodom and Gamora. They turned from God and were destroyed.

Typical atheists. Ha, let people have their own beliefs, just because you don't have any yourself doesn't mean others can't.

nah dude their voices have to be heard because their so much smarter. anyway i enjoy shutting people the fuck down with my bible bashing mentality.

Then they couldn't look back but lots wife looked back and so god said, fuck you and turned her into salt
