Where to stay in Colorado

Sup ns, I'm trying to plan a week long trip out to co, this year. I've never been out west skiing before, and am wondering what resort would be the best to stay at. I was thinking about going to copper because their parks look sick and I could get a hook up on some lift tickets, but I'm trying to look into multiple options. Any input?

Silverton. Learn real skiing on real mountains.

WARNING: You will die from exhaustion due to excessive hiking.

I haven't been to all of them but IMO if the snow is right, Telluride and Wolf Creek are the places to be. If you want to be in a park though and/or don't want to drive south then perhaps you best stay around Summit County.

Keep driving and stop in Oregon. We welcome our skiing visitors and will not charge you as much for lift tickets or accommodations. Also no sales tax. We will also pump your gas for you for no extra charge and the gas they sell as mid-grade in CO is regular here in OR.

Oregon has the 44th highest gas price in the country right now, and Colorado sell 85 octane because of the altitude. That aside both states are great having lived in both of them. The pumping gas thing is great but I'd rather save $5 every time I fill up.

That is not actually true if you compare 87 octane instead of comparing regular gas. Here in Salem a gallon of 87 Octane is $2.26 right now. Where my in-laws live in Boulder the cheapest 87 octane is $2.40.

There is a station owned by Kroger here is Salem (Fred Meyer) and their current price is $2.33 per gallon, the Kroger owned station in Boulder (King Soopers) is currently $2.43 per gallon.

I have always found the best prices on gas here in Oregon.

Modern fuel injected cars actually run best on the fuel they were designed to run on no matter what the altitude. No cars sold in America are designed to run on 85 octane. The fuel lobby has more influence in some states so they use that influence to sell inferior gas and pocket more cash.

Yup, and asthma on top of that!

Haha no one is good with altitude if you don't live there. It's really amazing how you can feel like youre actually dying when altitude sickness and strenous activity are mixed haha

I just stay at the crappy Super8 in Dillon. We do Breck in the day and keystone at night. Dillon/silverthrone has everything you need and in middle of the two resorts. Second week in February is chill time to go.

I loved skiing keystone/breck last season but id say if ur just here for a week go with copper. They have a sick park. They also have nice bowls that arent nearly as crowded as breck/vail. Also the mountain is set up so u wont encounter any cooks taking up space.
