Where to ski in Denver?

I have a general surgery residency interview at Exempla St. Joseph in Denver in a couple of weeks, and I'm going to be there a day early so I'm planning on skiing that day. I've never been to Denver, so where would be the best place to go for just one day? I'd like to ski cheaper if possible. Also, I'm just finishing med school in Iowa, so I'd really like to get some steeps/powder skiing as opposed to park. Thanks.

If you're looking to ski in Denver, I would recommend the hill in front of the capitol on Colfax. There's no lift, but they've got around 35ft of vertical.

Actually though, there's a pretty dope handrail, I'd love to see someone hit it. Plenty of snow now to make a run in too....

If you are looking for cheaper and not really park, then Loveland or Arapahoe Basin is the way to go

Loveland is 61 bucks a day right now, a good value for some decent steeps off of Chair 9.

Discounts as well: http://www.skiloveland.com/ticketsandpasses/offsitetickets.aspx

Arapahoe Basin is ~80 bucks, depending on when you go.

Imo, Loveland is a way better value for the money. Both are about an hour twenty depending on traffic from Denver, and are the two closest by far.

Hope that helps

I was born at st joseph!! hahah

yeah loveland for cheap/close to denver. chair 9 is open, a few fun hucks in the areas open off the ridge.

The Love is skiing rad as fuck right now. 9 is open, but there's about to be a lot more terrain open up there...

lovelands been unbelieably amazing recently. i would reccomend chair 9 or 4 for some freshies. 9 will get you way out there.
