Where to mount bindings on Faction Wednesday

Hi!

I got a pair of slightly used Faction Wednesdays, but I wonder what to do with the bindings.

They are now mounted -3cm from true center. I will use them absolutely most for parkskis, as I have other powder-skis. The problem is that other bindings have been on them before. So, they are already remounted once. If I remount them to center now, it will be the second remount, and I wonder if that will hurt the ski much?

I think I'll just try them at -3cm first to see how they work for me in the park, but what do you think? And is it stupid to remount them a second time?

In general it is safe to mount a ski 3 times before it does significant structural damage.
However any extra holes are an extra point of weakness. Its up to you, but if the skis weren't too expensive I'd probably remount to centre for pure park. In my opinion, 3cm will be a noticeable difference and probably worth the remount. Just check that with the different mount pattern, none of the holes will be too close together.

Yes, that's a problem with the different mount pattern. I don't know where the old holes are, because some of them are under the binding... How can I find out about that? But I was looking at them now, it doesn't look like the 3cms are very much. This is a 178 ski...

3cm isn't a huge amount, its about the same mount back as recommended on an AR6 (-2.5). But in my opinion that does make a difference. Moving 3cm back means you shit the balance point of the ski by 6cm, you have 6cm more ski in front of boot centre than behind. The wednesday has a wider nose than tail by a centimeter too, so that will add to the balance difference. Its a tradeoff, I think you will notice the difference on rails but it wont be huge. If it is a pure park ski then its probably worth it. If its a mix of park/groomers and has to last you a long time, then it probably isn't.
