Where to camp at hood?

Hi I am heading to hood next week and was wondering where is a good pleace to pitch a tent? Hopefully for free/cheap?

Lots of people, climbers in particular, camp in the Timberline parking lot. It doesn't have any facilities, though.

the lodge is open to the public till like 10, and has a pool to poach, haha, and the day lodge opens pretty early.

How do I get to the airstrip?

Im not exactly sure, but i know its right across from the road entrance to timberline

If you're coming from the East it's about a mile before the road to Timberline on the left. There is a sign that says "Trillium Lake". make a left there and go about a mile. the first right turn into a gravel road is the Airstrip. If you keep going you'll be at the Pay lots... F them. You'll be close enough to Trillium to bathe and play in the lake.

If you're coming from Portland pass up the Road to T-Line and just look for the trillium lake sign. it creeps up on ya.
