Well I am just posting this here and will edit the thread with every addition I get from you guys but where do you get your gear? list companies, brands, anything really. I will update with a list for every addition.

Where should you buy your gear? YOUR LOCAL SHOP!

Seriously, if you have to come on a forum and ask what you should get why not support a local business and be spoonfed by someone who gets paid to do it.

And on the internet pricing thing... the internet isn't a better deal.

see here, Atomic Access 499, thats MAP pricing, only tools sell stuff at msrp.

We could sell you these suckers over the phone shipped for free tomorrow morning for 499 and if you had a problem with them you could talk to an actual human.

yeah not always.

my local shop has a sick consignment/ used gear selection. My little brother found lightly used armada AR3s with salomon 10 din bindings there for $40.

My rule of thumb is that you can usually find last year's products at about 40% off online, so if you find that deal at a local store, you might as well just support the local business.

But the absolute best place in the world to buy gear: The SKI SWAP.

some people that sell their stuff in swaps have literally no idea how much its worth. the trick is to volunteer to work at the check-in station. that way you have first dibs on the sickest deals. This year I scored a pretty nice Sector Nine longboard for $20.

really depends on your style/price range... but some popular brands and places to buy are:

Saga

Jiberish

Evo

First Drop

Backcountry

there's really an unlimited amount of things I could post...

Thanks for those of you who submitted, as for the post about supporting my local shop I do but this is just for a list mostly to help others that need it.
