Where to buy cheap metal for rails?

Im looking for steel for an 8 foot long 4 inch wide flat bar that i have buiilt out of wood that needs a rail on top. Does anyone know where to get real cheap steel online?

some scrap yards will have old piping lying around. online idk. just thinking about shipping.....haha

get like a thin layer of some scrap metal to put on top of the already constucted frame, and if its gonna be 8 feet you might as well just buy like some angle iron and put it on both sides

I you have a lowes or tractor supply near you buy a glavonized gate its already bend and you can cut to the top off so you can have 2 rails using the top and bottom, all you mainly need is to mound them to supports and yer set, the come in various lengths, i think 8, 10, 12, 16

i know my friend was saying home depot had some long steel pipes for like 20$.
