Where to acquire tech pins?

So I have an idea in the works, but need to get a hold of some pins for a tech binding. For early testing purposes I figure I can get away with grinding the ends of bolts down and threading them into the part they'd ideally be welded to, but it seems most tech binding replacement parts are for larger and more expensive pieces. Just a student with limited resources, and the thing I'm trying to make is first and foremost for myself and friends. I'll re-evaluate my options if this skips the "oh that's a dumb idea, move on" phase.

Maybe look for a broken or old pair of tech bindings and see if you can get the pins loose. If not grinding down some bolts probably the best call

I think your best bet might be trying to find some old tech bindings to assure you can still fit them to a tech boot. However, depending on the tools you have, you could get some raw material from Mcmaster-Carr or something like these Dowel pins linked below. Good luck man!

Thanks, mcmaster has a lot of the stuff I need. Probably gonna go with a semi threaded dowel pin and get the non threaded side cut to a point on a lathe.
