Where should I ride next season?

Martock or Wentworth? I havn't skied either last season but used to ski Martock 5-6 days a week the two years previous. In the past, Wentworth has had a better park, bigger hill. Martock is fun once it gets going though. I'll be driving up from Hali so keep that in mind too.

Thor has done marvels with the wentworth park, its really good now, and the pipe opened in january last season.

martock dude. i think it really is gonna be good next year. i'm driving up form bedford and it takes like 35 mins compared to like 100mins to wentworth. it got better and better since two seasons ago. they have a great double kinkk and the table by the end of the year ruled it.

i'd say Martock if u want more rails/pipe than u do a couple jumps...wentworth did well on jumps, but i found there rails were not so fun, and the wentworth pipe sux....go martock! see you there next year

There is absolutely no other alternative than to ski @ wentworth.

Martock's jumps were the worse i've seen in 5 years. In fact they weren't even jumps to begin with. Martock's pipe is usually a tad better than Wentworth, just because it is open all the time. However, during the peak times in the season with the best conditions, most snow etc, wentworths pipe was 110% better than martock.

If you want to do any good sking at all, Wentworth is the answer, there is even a lot of nutty terrain that you are allowed to ski now (Creak Cliffs). This isn't even getting into the out of bounds lines you can ski on the 'mountains' across the street etc (I can post pics of some good stuff).

 
Yeah dude, post some pics. If I ski at Martock, I'll still make it up to Wentworth a few times. Agreed that in the past I found Wentworth's jumps to be better. The rails at Martock will be good if they have a double kink now, hopefully they get some cool boxes in the future too. The proximiety of Martock to Halifax (I'll be living right by Pt. Pleseant Park (Oglivie Street, so its deep in the south end of the city) is a big factor too.

Yeah, martock is super close, and a seasons pass for only $100 is crazy good (and it pays for itself the first like 3 times you go).

 
yea, martock all the way, i'm quitting racing so i changed my name to just Martock...i'll be in the park as much as i can progressing...i really hope to see more tt's there.....at the end of the season however we had 8 twin tippers at one time in there, it was bomb cuz the snowboarders sat around while we just owned the park....snowboarders don't do anything at martock

the whole ski team knows of some good backcountry drops at martock too, we're pretty much the only ones to go there...you go like 50 feet into the woods of shanes and ski down, there are like 12 foot drops and killer lines

the creek is the shit, not to mention, compared to martock, wentworth has no crowds, is a bigger hill and a fuckload more terrain. my fav. path is between pugwash, and the former buns bumps, just incredible.

Fuck, I hate the crowds at Martock. We used to go every day after school and there were basically zero people. On the weekends it was rediculous. Fucking rediculous.

yea, 20-40 minutes on the lifts sometimes, then about 2 minutes down...but the martock park is EASy to hike

boys it is simple..

if you want to seesion the best hits and rails and pipe...it is martock on wednesday night...you got to be apart of the seen ( martock freeski or ECFS) to ride the shit that night. so if all you peops out there think your into the east coast freeski seen join the east coast freeski association or martock freeski team.

Wentworth rocks the weekends and any snow days..more trees to ski than anywhere in the atlantic!! the park is going to rck if the maintain the stuff. look out for a sick year in NS

 
however, the new t-bar they are building in wentworth is gonna be the shit.
