i live in nova scotia but am moving outwest next year for a few months just to ski but can't decide where to go, right now im thinking nelson bc with whitewater and red so close but not sure. if anyone could give me some advice/ their opinion on where to go that would be much appreciated.

sounds good. get some touring gear, take your ast 1, and learn to find joy in the uphill... it will change your life.

don't expect very much park though.

Park city UT........... I have two friends that moved there, one stays there and one comes home for summer. There's just soooo much there to do!

Everyone has their favorite spots and will probably just recommend those unless you further specify what you are looking for.

Do you want a good park? Tons of pow? Big city or small town? Remote or easy access? Cost of living? Vibe?

If you tell us a little more about what you are looking for in a place, you will get better info/recommendations.

it's expensive, it's crowded, the snow quality isn't as good, it's not as laid back. Come to the Kootenays and you'll meet a whole lot of people who "don't have fun" there.

Mega resorts aren't for everyone.

good point, thanks. Im defiantly looking for a small, ski town reasonable cheap living cost but thats not too much of a factor. Im looking for a place leaning more towards pow than park and it would have to be in Canada. Thanks.

squamish, ski out of whistler, and become a coach, work 1-2 days a week and you still get a free pass, thats like getting paid $1500 upfront. plus rent is way cheaper than in whistler and its only an hour away, then again with gas prices these days you might as well have a place up beside the mountain.

Whitewater would be great. You could move to Golden and do kicking horse. Revvy is an amazing mountain with an insane amount of terrain.

Kicking Horse is fucking great. Also, if you're lookin for pow, head to Fernie or Retallack or Revelstoke.

its not in canada but still close. Montana is great you get really good snow and we have lots of different terrain. If you had to choose a town probably either Bozeman or Kalispell/Whitefish.

Hey man, I am going to Kelowna in July. I am leaving Quebec for a new start in BC and my contract ends july 1st. I also need a roomate. PM me if you are serious about leaving
