Where pipe needs to go

Most people seem disgusted with the way the pipe at x turned out.

If we wan't to see changes we better figure out what we would like to see in the future.

Personally I would like to see switch skiing become a staple of pipe skiing. Also, if you go big, you can't be flailing. style is very important.

What would everyone else like to see?

For some reason i see the X games Pipe having rails in it somewher edown the road!!

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

more spinning both direction is insane, if jon cold link a 9 to a unntty 9 in a run....

and making the 2nd last hit landing switch to the last trick being a switch hit trick.

I think mirrored pipe runs could be DAMN progressive, like Cork 5, Unnaty Cork 5, Cork 9, Unnaty Cork 9, not for the whole run, but for some of the tricks, Jon showed it a bit.

The X announcers were stressing amplitude so much that nobody would go switch. Dumont even cased on his winning run, but it was ok because he went so big. I think that the run should be half switch with a monster first hit.

As said above, I could see them incorporating rails in the future. Did you ever see when they put rails on the edge of a skateboard vert ramp like 5' above the coping? That would be sick. I've even seen in ski videos when a resort halfpipe has an extension box or something. You could wallride it or slide the top.

They could also make huge channel gaps like they do in skateboarding. That would be sick!!

Pipe skiing and snowboarding will progress inevidibly and there will surely be an alteration in the size/shape/design of the pipe in the next 10 years.

I counldn't ever see rails in the pipe, but what I could see is a wall ride on one of the walls, or a rail say 10ft up, that skiers could jump up and stale on... that'd be pretty styliie,

as long as skiing doesnt just become a giant huckfest ill be fine with it like i dont want to see a 1260 or a 1440 in the pipe because that would just be plain ugly the rail idea and the wallride idea i like

Why? I think that its a good idea to introduce a new medium to work off of. Opens up so many more opportunities for new stuff.

wallride would be sick, and a rail out the end

A few years ago, Boyd Easley was saying how he's sick of big air contests. He said something like 'Everybody always talks about how style is more important than hucking more technical tricks, and then in every contest all they do is throw hideous switch 1080s'.

Personally, I like seeing Dumont throw a *huge* crossed-up, tweaked-out 5 on the first hit better than watching people try to scrape out a last sloppy 9 at the end of the run with no speed.

i want a magic carpet going up the deck of the pipe for the days that hiking just works you!

people say that pipe needs to start heading towards switch stuff, losts of people are skiing pipe switch but in a contest a switch trick in the middle of your run automaticly kills your aplitude of your run, even a switch trick at the end of your run isnt going to be nearly as big as a regular hit. Skiers are getting better at it but its going to a along time before people are bossting 20 foot switch airs all the way down the pipe...

i think we have to get the judges to go with more progressive stuff and not need huge amplitude for every run, its nearly impossible to go like 20 feet out going switch i think and if u need to go huge than switch hits just arent going to happen unless they all decided that in order to progress it than theyll all start doing more switch stuff so then the judges might see the more tech stuff coming and maybe lower their huge amplitude standards

I think a giant air (like 14 or 15 feet out) to switch on the first hit and link it into a switch 7 would be a good way to start. Then a setup air to an alley oop flat spin 5, to a flair, then a setup air and finish it off with a 9 or 10 depending on your speed.

With what we saw at the X-games this year, that run would be really progressive.

i dont know if anyone mentioned this, ive mentioned it before in other places but.... what about tricking in on the drop in. if you think about it its just like a hip. why not zero spin in, 3?5?anyone else think thats a good idea?

i could easily see a rail. or even better, a huge wall ride with a recessed section leading into it giving people the option of simply gapping over it as a channel section or skiing a little bit past the main wall to hit the wall ride and then coming back out into the main pipe... so sick

switch should def be scored so much higher than it is, that should be the future, if pros can learn to do like back to back 7's or something thatd be sick

How 'bout a pipe that's not undervert for starters, then how 'bout grooming the pipe, and then how 'bout getting better judges than that fag Josh Loubeck who doesn't know a thing about style.

boost

i didnt think the judging was that bad.

However, people that go to the pipe to get massive air, it may sound stupid but maybe if we totally learned how to get air and air control, it would be sicker.

of course amplitude is a must.... why do you think everyone is so stoked on andy marhes zero spin???? its a simple trick with lots of amplitude

Q:How do you get a BooTEr CruNk???

A:With a sHoVeL of CouRSe!

more then 3-4 hits a run would be dope.

Plus, no more flares, alleyoop flatspins, and end of run cork sevens.

I saw they bring back the spread eagles, double daffys, and screamin seamen... with simons amplitude he could do like 10 daffys with a double screamin seamen

I say air to fakie a twenty footer, cause that shit is scary.

first hit^^ 20 ft air to fakie... i think u could get a 15 foot cab 7 out of that for sure

Write that down.

if crichton was in the x pipe it woulda been better, he has big hits and tech tricks at the same time and he woulda done something switch
