Where not to be on the holidays?

Yeah....

Which resorts will be the worst in terms of lift lines.

I am not spending all this scrilla to spend all day waiting in line. Talking about maximizing my trip fun time without the aid of a hooker attached to my back at all times.

No matter what resort you go to you're going to have to deal with large crowds since it is the holiday season. But the largest crowds I've seen during the holidays are at Snowbird. So you may not want to go there too much.

Go To Powder Mountain and go cat skiing, longest lift line you'll have is 10 minutes on the beginner hill otherwise 5 minutes tops. maybe 20 for cat skiing which is 12 bucks a pop and worth every penny. Its got the worst ski resort road in utah so it keeps the idiots that don't know how to use gears at salt lake resorts.

Well if you go to Snowbird during the holidays, I would suggest that you get your daypass with tram, cause you will get the most runs that way. Plus if it's a pow day that you go, there is no excuse to not get a tram pass.

if anything the tram is where your crowds are gonna be. all the tourists get tram passes and you could wait like 45 mins just to get on that. I would suggest the opposite and ride peruvian if your looking for less crowds.

this, but it is outside of ogden, an hour-ish north of slc.

if that is a problem, go to solitude.

even the busiest day at solitude isn't as busy as an average day in lcc.

christmas day itself isn't too terrible, many of the utah residents do the family/church thing so it's mostly tourists on the hill i've noticed. still busy though. this year, with christmas being on a friday, expect that sat and sunday (and maybe thursday too, a lot of people get christmas eve off) to be super packed though, especially if there is a good amount of snow by then.

I fly in on Christmas day. I will be in SLC on christmas night by 11pm. Still get to spend Christmas morning / afternoon with the family. I won't be skiing till that Saturday until the 2nd of January.

I hope there are some bars / stores open on Christmas day....

Anyone wanna give me a ride from the airport to my hotel in Sandy? Easy money...

As said above make sure to chekc out powder mountain its relatively low key and not as much of a touristy place.

hmmm to be honest christmas break isnt really that bad if i remember right (ive skiied snowbird past couple of years) if there is a huge dump some lifts can get crowded (little cloud, gad zoom is always a little packed, mineral can get super crowded at times i would scout out the lines from above the bowl), but usually one is less crowded then the others. as someone said earlier peruvian has great terrain and almost never has a line, for me 90% of the time i can ski on or just a minute wait. if the crowds are bad try solitude? i havent been there for awhile but i remember not a lot of people being there and if you wanna ski powder you will have a lot of fun there.

But they fill the tram with tons of people so it really kind of goes faster than 45 minutes. The longest you'll have to wait is maybe a half hour but otherwise it will probably be like 20 minutes.

stores (like shops and such) will most likely be closed because it is 11 at night on christmas except for 7-11's and taco bells, but that is kind of par for the course anywhere.

you may find some bars open, i got wasted at a bar last year on christmas eve and christmas day. grab a city weekly from a stand anywhere (free weekly newspaper with lots of bar ads that are all over) and look for the ads that will say "open on christmas day" or something like that.

liquor stores won't be because of the holiday and because of the time, they close at 7 or 9 depending on the store. they aren't open on sunday's either, so go on the day after christmas to stock up.

sorry i can't hook you up with a ride, i'm doing the exact reverse trip to yours, unfortunately i have to spend christmas in wisconsin.

I got a ride from the airport to the hotel figured out. Then if I didn't say it already we rented a whip.

Liquor stores I assume will be closed on xmas. My flight gets in at 10 actually, so I will get the names of all the bars in SLC (how many can there be, 11 or 12? LOL jk), and call them on our way there to see what their hours are. It would be nice to continue to drink after we get off the airplane ($6 drinks on an airplane.......hahahahaha man thankfully I sold that kidney). That way I can hit the hay hard on Christmas night and wake up to....the best day after Christmas.....go on onthesnow.com and look at top 10 dumps and utah resorts are all in the top 10. And I say WHERE YA WANNA BE TITS DEEP IN POW TODAY to my girlfriend, and then laugh like a mad man while throwing my ski gear on.

I see your DUI limit is the same as ours in Michigan. Taxi's are wicked expensive. Our hotel is next to a Denny's so I think I am set for food.

Yeah I don't mind a 10 minute wait in line, but I read some 45 minute wait shit and I was like....screwwww that. I want to ride some wicked terrain but I want to find mega pow stashes. I dont care if I have to traverse a half mile.

Pow skiing and wicked terrain by day and then in the park by night at Brighton or somewhere that doesn't cost $30 to night ski.
