Where is the best place to ski in New York?

Depends on what part, Catskills- hunter is fun. I put down maybe 30 days there last season.

Up north though. whiteface is the way to go.
 
yup. depends on what part and what you're looking for. im not a huge fan of hunter mainly due to how crowded they get on the weekends. but i do love belleayre and plattekill, especially on pow days. other than that, whiteface and gore
 
He really needs to specify what part of NY. But the last weekend at hunter, they made the whole mountain a park and made huge hips with the cats all over previously long blue cruiser runs.
 
Youre kidding right? Upstate ny gets some of the highest snowfalls inthe country. Its all lake effect snow, but its snow.
 
Yeah man, don't knock it. The handful of times that it snows a lot at once around here opens up some nice little places. Though they aren't the craziest places to ski, they are still very fun.
 
dood i have lived 20 minutes from the canadien border for 18 years which is as upstate as it gets, and i know for a fact there is not pow, im not saying there isnt good skiing, im just saying theres definately not pow

and for the lake effect, western new york i will agree gets a decent amount from the great lakes, but in the northeast where the higher vertical is we are on the wrong side of the lake

But she is right, westwestwest side of Belleayre on a pow day is real nice. Gotta know where to look.
