Where is the best mountain in the wold?

Favorite I've ever skied is Jackson Hole and I'm pretty sure a lot of people would agree with me.

When I went to Bridger Bowl that was really fun, especially the tree runs off of PK.

when I when to bridger bowl those fuckheads wouldn't even let me on one of the lifts so I screamed them and got my money back

yeah those cock faces were all like "you need a probe to use that lift" . what the fuck even is that? And they wouldn't even give me my money back

I haven't been to many skis areas out west but I'd have to say whistler was awesome, it was like the perfect ski town, so many ski stores, good restaurants, bars, and the scenery is breathtakin. The peak to peak is really cool to go on as well and while there wasn't a whole lot of snow this year because it was warmer than usual I has a ton of fun in the park.

I haven't skied many places but Whistler definitely made an impression on me, so much fun terrain that was just my size. I also really liked Jackson Hole, super fun mountain and the stash parks are by far the most fun parks I've skied. Will always have a soft spot for Schweitzer though....

I want to say Whis because of the sheer size and variety of terrain, but we've been pretty f'd in terms of snow this. I feel like the best mountain in the world needs to be more consistent. Ya ya coverage has been dece, but I've had way too many days of shite snow that makes me dislike skiing.

I heard theres a really big mountain underwater near hawaii. Rumor has it theyre building a chairlift for water skiing in 2018.

Jackson Hole - Probably the best terrain I've ever ridden. Love how a lot of it was left natural. Place blends right in with the surrounding mountains. The stash parks were also a ton of fun and surprisingly the main park was super flowy with hips and a toilet bowl at the bottom.

Mt Ruapehu - had the best view of any mtn I've been to so far from the summit, and I probably enjoyed, shredded, and smiled harder on the crater drop than any other line I've ridden.

No need to be a buzz kill. A lot of people on here don't have the loot to be able to pull off many crazy trips. I'm not hating just saying this thread is relative to what you've been to, if not, what's the point? We might as well just link an article on some website or only allow epic world travelers to post.

I'm going to have to try that out next year. Hard to pass up for only $150.

The dolomites too, Verbier, Tignes, La Balme, Cervina...

In the Alps 3,000 vertical feet is considered average. Their bigger resorts all pass 5,000, with a few over 6,500. All on too many acres to even count. The Val Thorens super ski area or whatever has over 30,000 skiable acres. And that covers every single type of terrain.

Anyone who thinks any NA skiing is the best in the world is very very wrong.

From a terrain standpoint, Krasna Polyana is probably the greatest ski area ever created.

I don't think you can compare mountains. My favourite mountain will always be Perisher, does this mean it's the best mountain? Each mountain has different draws. In Japan, I love ripping trees and deep powder. In Whistler the bowls are super fun. Have't skied Europe but I hear mountaineering is pretty much the greatest thing you can do,

"Please just share me your favorite mountain in the world and tell me why"

Most people haven't been to resorts all over the world. They might not be suggesting that there's no better place on earth but it's the best place they've been.

I've been skiing the 3valles and Tignes/Val d'Isere the last two weeks and I have to agree, terrain is endless and dwarfs anything in North America.

how much is a season pass there?

I've always wanted to move to there or Andorra, but it sounds so intimidating to move overseas as a clueless American.

Big resort =/= best resort.

Places like Jackson have consistently amazing snow and terrain, not many other places are really like that. Not saying that Europe isn't amazing too, just don't count North America completely out. Plus, like arbotionator said, most people can't really relate to those places because they aren't easily accessible
