Where is Big Mountain?

You barely hear or see anything about powder, cliffs, chutes,or cornices anymore. Its all about parks and back country jumps. Where has it gone?
 
yeah, i agree, backcountry iss tight. There are too many park rats now. I've been into backcountry more since i blew my knee out, it's soo ill listenin to mellow beats, rippin the powder.
 
Probably because people would rather watch people hit cliffs, powder, jumps, rails, and BC booter than watch someone ski down a hill.
 
big mountain is sick but more stories come out of park and I think that park segments are actually better. Just my opionin though.
 
its more entertaining to see someone bust in the park for sure. it just depends on your surroundings and your age as well. there arent many kids under 16-17 that would be really stoked to see a movie with mostly big mountain the sports just shiftin something will come back soon.
 
i thought you were asking that like it was a ski resort...

but i definately think its still there, videos definately still have shots of people hitting huge BC lines
 
maybe you're just watching the wrong movies and don't think that just because you don't hear about people ripping big mountains on NEWSCHOOLERS.COM (*cough* park rats *cough*) doesn't mean it's not going down.

For me personally I fall asleep watching park segments , every single one of them looks exactly the same to me. Ooo0 A cork 7, Woah another cork 7, holy shit a rail, another cork 7 damn this kid is nasty, woah more cork 7's.

I would watch more park if people would get creative and build cool features or at least try funny tricks like switch double frontflips and various nonsense.
 
Park to me seems like such an ego show, its like a pissing contest or something, theres a crowd and you're trying to act "Steezy" or whatever the fuck. It just seems phoney to me. When you and a buddy are ripping lines in the BC, your partner can't even see you sometimes and no one else is watching, I feel like I'm totally doing it for myself back there. when I'm in the park it just feels like I'm trying to impress someone or something.
 
this man just put a pretty sick edit of some sick big mountain.

and i just put up a 3 second camera phone clip of powder... we are here....we just hide away from you guys.
