Where do you go to find new hip-hop or other genres of music? +K

Whats up NS!? I'm just trying to do a little research on where people like to go to find new music, more specifically hip-hop. But if there are other genres or outlets to find music you are passionate about please let me know!

Some of the obvious ones for hip-hop might be Datpiff, XXL Magazine, Coast 2 Coast, even places like YouTube and Soundcloud... Does anyone else have any more places?

Someone in the websites you visit thread introduced me to thissongissick.com which is now a favorite, along with the song you cant stop listening to thread in M&A
 
usually just find collabs, of artists I like with ones I haven't heard of, then check out their music.

Just work your way through artists and typically, who they work with is who they think is good or similar to their own "flavor"
 
maybe you could do some fucking research and find some music you like instead of finding other people to tell you what to listen to.
 
For the record, I'm asking because i'm getting ready to invest a little bit on some advertising across a variety of websites and magazines for my independent label... Specifically for one artist though... But thanks for the knowledge, i appreciate it.

oh sorry man I didn't read OP thoroughly enough.

I listen to hiphop and metal.

I find out about metal bands mostly through facebook sharing because everybody is trying to help eachother out, but also if I go to a show there are usually some bands i've never heard of so thats how I come across that. then I torrent their stuff and usually buy it if it's good.

I usually come across dope rap artists/albums/such when they're featured in other stuff. for example I found out about a shit ton of sick canadian hip hop from this mixtape of all the songs shad's appeared on.

No worries man. I share the same experience with catching new music at shows and features with other artists its just nice to see what my fellow ns community does as well. To see somebody from NS post a site that i have contacted to advertise with is nice. Somehow makes it more personal, and gives me the feeling that the advertising/promo will be well worth the investment.
