Where are the Windells recaps at?

Title^ Where tf they at though. The Windells recaps have always been some of my favorite edits, and it's sad to see none released at this point. Praying the IG edit surge didn't kill them off :(

Seems like they’ve transitioned to heavy Instagram posts and stories, which is whack but it makes sense bc their audience are kids 10-18 who are glued to their phones 24/7 and probably have no idea Newschoolers exists.

I agree tho.

Havey and Dahlberg were the best media guys they’ve had in my opinion. Last summer’s session recaps are the best ones they’ve put out IMO!

Not sure whats going on with the media team this year- but from my time staying at hood last summer and like Chubz said, Havey and Dahlberg put in a ridiculous amount of time on hill and in editing each of the recaps.

I imagine that is the reason for their discontinuation, the time invested vs marketing power gained was just not worth it. Im glad they are at least avoiding the Coachella-esque HD vlog recaps that momentum is going for.

They're either just putting out insta edits or waiting maybe, but would expect at least 2 edits by now considering that's how its been for a decade, thought I saw that Dahlberg was there filming oystein and others, could be separate from windells. Momentum posts session videos this summer, I'd hope windells would cause they always have a great vibe and dont max out at 59 seconds like anything on IG

I hope they’ll come, last summers edits were some of the best content of the year. Really places a mood making me want to be there even more too.

Windells is doing insta edits only, but a halfway recap and an end of season edit have been rumored, so keep your fingers crossed.

Bummer. I don’t follow them on insta and probably won’t bother - I never have volume on my phone and the music choices were half the reason I loved their edits before.

Don’t see myself watching a minute long gram on silent or even through shitty phone speakers - end of an era I guess.

Sucks but all resorts/places want now are instagrams. I know high cascade is strictly insta this year. But, the filmer might just make a recap at the end off the season.

I feel like the recap edits really showed what Windells was all about. And last year's edits have a decent amount of views on Youtube. I understand the switch, but they just post way too much content for me on their IG to even care. As an old camper too, I find recap edits are a nice memory from camp, and probably the only time for campers to be in the same edit as their favorite pros

Yeah I went in 2011 and 2012 and those edits are still some of my favorite, new ones have great production but the vibe in the older ones is nostalgic, shows how sick skiing hood is, but also how fun the camp is too.

tbh 2011-2013 were some of the best production value, Strassman was a visionary for making windells edits. Havey and Osap crushed it with a different style, way more freeform/handheld than Strassman’s but sooo crisp, idk if anyone worked harder for those edits than Havey... Legacy dissolving with the lack of edits this summer, but they’ve got other marketing goals

Yeah true, i just think they're all good anyways, you also produced some great content for the edits (right?) Also, you aware if they're done with edits or not? My old roommate was offered a film gig there I think for this summer, but camera was stolen, and he also hates how insta edits have taken over.

Yeah 15-17, tho in 16 Nick Broms was editor and in 17 Havey was editor, I was filming a ton those years also skiing as much as possible. Anyway yeah Windells is officially done with session edits this summer, not sure what their plan was for short-form stuff on insta but I know that is where they're focusing their marketing content.

Damn, thanks for confirming, I wonder why though because they'll just have to post to IGTV for anything over a minute, and I can only imagine how many bangers wont make the edits that could be put into a 4-5 minute YT video. Guess it's the way things are moving, I just hope ski movies/short films keep going.

Seems like the pro park is what’s poppin these days. Not too many skiers in Windells anymore

Very true, and crazier shits going on in the pro park compared to windells, must be the piff.

As someone in this age range I think it’s a damn shame more kids my age don’t know about NS. Even if they just use the mobile app like me (mostly) it’s so dope there’s a hub for skiing/park outside of Instagram. I think it’s cool I still see stuff across my ig feed of skiing but I def wish people would still keep posting there edits here. For all I care post them on both.
