When will urban and BM make it the olympics?

Imagine a crazy urban course and a Redbull Linecatcher event on a larger scale in the olympics.I think the world need's to see all the aspects of freeskiing, and since for example crosscountry skiing got like 20 different disciplines, then why not add more to freeskiing and snowboarding?

Would be sick.

after they make it into major comps like the x games. most of the general population wont understand urban and big mountain is logistically way to complicated

I don't see either of those things happening. Big mountain isn't really feasible. The FWT has had to cancel, postpone, and move events in the past and even that was a nightmare. How many potential host cities have the terrain and snow to pull off a quality venue? As much as I'd love to see that, I don't see how they pull it off. As for urban, there'swhat....3 semi-major rail comps a season? How would they handle qualifying? Is it really different enough from slopestyle (from an outsider perspective I mean) to warrant a different event? I don't see..uhh ..."urban" ever being an Olympic sport. Furthermore, can you call it urban if it is on a controlled, built, ski slope?

i really don't think urban would ever make it into the olympics. Maybe a solpestyle course that looks like it has urban rails and walls etc. but never an exact recreation of urban skiing. Urban's it's own kind of thing which is what makes it so fun.

I wouldn't want to see urban or BM in the olympics, i feel like we need to keep some form of our sport core like urban and BM. If skiing has a whole (BM, racing, freeski etc) moves to the olympics I fear our beloved sport would become way to rule restricted by the IOC and we would lose what makes our sport so beloved, look at racing, you can only have a ski a certain size with certain turing radius and what not and if that were to happen to slopestyle or BM it would lose its individuality as a sport as well as an athlete

considering urban isnt even a contest to begin with i dont think were gonna see that in the olympics any time soon. big mountain events are way too unpredictable as well. now, a rail jam and a big air for olympic gold medals....that would be something

No more parts of FREESKIING in the Olympics...do you want the "sport" to get any more mainstream? full on training, top athletes, drug testing, and all that crap?

Jossi gets a fine for skiing urban in the Olympic Village...chances of anyone being ok with it? none

YEA MAN I ONLY SKI BECAUSE IT'S UNDERGROUND, FUCK THE MAN AND THE OLYMPICS.

but for real urban in the Olympics? Wtf that's not even a type of contest, a rail jam maybe.

You guys have no imagination

Would be awesome with all kind of ways to hit the course, wallrides, jumps, redirects and perhaps one high risk feature which will score you mad points.

Having shitting in the olympics, well, I dont know what to say about that, other than it will not ever make it in the olympics.

The point of urban isnt to have one run. Its spending 7 hours getting the 1 shot you want.

That would be pretty fucking boring to watch.

This would make sense, but the problem is they are still trying to actively get less and less sports in the summer olympics, but the issue is skateboarding does not belong to an organization like freeskiing did (FIS) to fall in as a subdiscipline, so it would be politically very difficult for its entry.

they need more war of rails type events. Have those be the qualifying events. Then have an epic War of Rails type course for the olympics designed by craig coker.

fuck yeah
