When to hit college campus rails (not my first rodeo)

where i go to school campo rolls heavy 24-7 and nabs literally every offender from parking violations to local teenagers robbing students at gunpoint.

my school has prime rails that look like they should be in Park City or Carinthia.

Everything is perfect height and smoother than waxed poon, plus natural roll ins

DFDs, FDs, huge downbars, urban drops, closeouts, not to mention some of the gnarly wallrides

as already mentioned in a past post ive had my share of incidents with name, license taken down parking tickets, violations and other police trouble coming from doing urban on pub or priv property

Likely between 3-6 am. That will be after they are done dealing with drunk people and you may be able to catch them in the middle of a shift change or something like that.
 
I've also had problems with hitting urban on my campus because real police officers work as security. I found that mid Sunday afternoons are a good time, or like Link said, early mornings after 3.
 
like others said, really early morning. I've also found that campus is pretty quiet on mondays at around 11:30pm on. I hit a rail in the center of my campus and didn't see security once last monday.
 
As others said, early morning. And holidays are also a good time, but I don't know if you have any big ones coming up.

Go strange hours of the night/early morning. Go scout them one night without your gear, hang out awhile and see how often they make their rounds. Really stake out the joint bank robber style, where they come from, what times etc...

We used to hit a rail next to a police substation in NY, it was fun laying down in the snow hiding every time a cop car rolled by. We had it down to an art.

Part of the fun of urban is sneaking around to get that epic few hits, then escaping unseen. Also work on the setup first with your gear out of sight... then quickly grab your stuff, hit it a few times then get out of there. Sure a lot of this might seem like common sense, but I've seen a lot of people just be careless and get in trouble. Also bring someone to be a lookout!

Unless you're trying to film it with lights and stuff... in that case good luck!
 
I'm pretty sure college campus's are designed by an underground team of secret snowboarders and skiers because every one I've been to has some heavy ass urban hits. I've been scoping out mine for the past two years and finally think I have an in.

I'm not sure about different campus's, but at ours the security is a student-based program for law enforcement majors. This means that they are students just like everyone else and are quite easy to befriend. I have a couple friends who work cameras and have heard a thing or two about urban skiing and don't mind it too much. Get them to hold off on calling it in for just a little bit, they have to do it, but try to convince them to give you at least one or two shots before getting booted.

Another way of doing it is coming and setting it up in sections. Throughout the evening/late day, come to the spot (wearing non-thug gear helps) and toss some snow around to build a lip, then maybe a drop in another time. Then, when the time is right and everything is set, come back black-van style and hit that shit quick- like a few shots and leave. Or just go until you get caught. Either way, you're not going to have the luxury of seshing a rail all night and landing a bag of tricks.

Best advice I can think of is just take a super small crew with you and make a plan. Just go for it.

 
1:make a drop in and jump onto rail

2:park nearby and quickly set up these and cover with snow

3:set up cameras

4:quickly sesh the rail/ledge at early hours in the morning

5:pack up and get the fuck outa there

The only thing that sucks is that about half of them have such a big power-trip boner that they actually think they're real cops and will bust you for literally anything.
 
ours comprises of like 20 former state troopers and cops.... these guys are so legit they have nabbed several armed robbers without having any weapons. plus walkways on campus are big enough for them to rip around on their side by side UTVs

we've done the FDF rail a few times on inline and bmx at like 1am monday night and instantly they were on our case
 
Tony were you with when we tried to hit the bid dfd last year? They came in just as we got it setup and surrounded us like we were some armed criminals haha. I guess they were watching us the whole time on the cameras. We even parked out on the lake and tried to sneak by to the rail haha
 
what we dont realize is how loud and obvious a bunch of skiers are.... its gonna be hard. find a spot on the outskirts of campus if possible if you cant do that, your best option is stealth and timing. and have people watching out while you do your work

Tried to do something a couple weeks back got kicked out before we could even scout, we were there on a holiday at 10, if it snows again probably go back at 3 or 4.
 
- Very late at night- Holidays, reading weeks, or sunday nights

- Try to find already lit areas - brining your own lights is super bait

- Scope it during the day and make a plan to get in and out quickly

- I would talk to them a few weeks in advance to actually figure out there policy on that type of shit. I talked to my campus security and the guy I talked to said he would turn a blind eye as long as we didnt draw a ton of attention, and we were safe.
 
My campus is closed over christmas break. Sessioned spots in the day all day, was pretty nice.

Also, never been kicked out of a spot by the cops.
 
No I missed that trip but heard what happened, kinda glad I wasn't around haha. I swear the public safety has nothing better to do than mess with skiers/skaters and power-trip all over drunk kids.

But we have to make an another attempt this year, I can't keep walking past that staircase outside Linden and not give it a shot.
 
That happened when my roommate who was a security guard was on duty and he told us what time to hit it so it was between shifts an everything. It's gonna be pretty hard to hit a rail on campus I think.

Also they have my name written down now and supposedly if I get caught again I get in big trouble with the University.

If its a party school, our college campus we always went late at night on Saturdays. Cops always had their hands full on these nights as well as Friday nights. Never had one problem and they had driven by us several times. Too busy arresting kids for drinking and partying. Someone's hitting a rail? Who cares I have kids to bust and parties to break up....
 
only urban ive ever done was on my campus. I got there and a few other kids were already hitting it. I hit it twice, long down bar , greased it second try. Go back up to try a 27 or sw up and an RA is waiting like " you can be doing this here its not safe blah blah blah, im going to call the cops if you go any more" so i said alright thanks call them, hit it one more time, and left.
