...The Mod who Deletes them should follow up with a message to the creator with regards to why it was deleted.
 
It used to say "your thread was deleted by __________" but then people would send message upon message asking why it was deleted, and it would happen for threads that were terrible... things with an obscure title that would upon clicking on would simply read "Poop in my butt loollll"

You get the idea. It sucked.
 
Disabling the auto message that was sent out when your thread got deleted was a wonderful move by admin. If you really want to know why, its not hard to PM a mod who can help. Problem is 9/10 members just want to bitch and moan. It gets old.
 
They should do it when you get banned though, What do you mean it gets old? Maybe they have a legitamate reason as to why they don't think it was suppose to be deleted... Cool you want to stay anonymous hiding behind a computer, good for you.

 
1) you do get a reason listed when you're banned and try to log-in2) if you really want to know why your thread got deleted you can still PM a mod, that's exactly what ashley said

and 3) wtf is up with the anonymous shit ? i don't get it? would you feel better if we were to put out all our personal info on the net or something ?
 
1. Ban reason does nothing, if we get banned, we know what we did. I want to see the mod who banned me. Probably ElGato though because he bans everyone.

No, your reading comprehension is bad, I meant anonymous as in a random person moderating a ski site is sitting behind their computer screen banning children for posting shit that isn't even close to bad. Go to the banned list from the past few weeks and tell me 9/10 aren't dumb ass reasons. I don't want your personal info....
 
"if we get banned, we know what we did" so why would you still want to know who banned you? so you can take it up personally and get all butthurt ?

A quick count of the first page of recently banned people and elgato doesn't even come close to 1/5 and he's one of the most active mods on here.

Also a quick overview of the ban reasons shows me that main reasons are racism, posting porn/gore and alias... All pretty legit reasons if you ask me ...

And concerning "random persons" moderating on here, who else would you like to moderate this site? tanner hall or something ?

And perhaps you might not consider certain ban-worthy stuff offensive at all, but some people might...

racism towards women, homosexuals and black people might not do much to you, but to those people it's a whole different story ....

And graphic content, yeah, i personally dont mind seeing the occasional boob but do realize that people surf NS during work or classes and they can get in a shitload of trouble if graphic stuff like that pops up .

feel free to vent any more problems you have with moderation on NS in the "transparent moderation thread" ....

My comment had nothing to do with not knowing who banned you. It was in regards to the automatic message that was sent out when you had a thread deleted. That message caused a huge influx of PMs to the mods with a general "omg why did my thread get deleted that is so unfair give me a damn good reason wahhhh!" which yes, gets old after a while. I have no problems explaining why I deleted your thread. But disabling that cut down on those PMs and we only get honest inquiries about thread deletion now. It has nothing to do with being anonymous. I don't give a shit about that, c'mon now.

I also don't have a problem letting you know it was me who banned you...but again, that just causes an influx of complaints and non-serious inquiries. As a mod who wants to enjoy the site as much of you, that creates a burden we don't honestly need to deal with. We're here to keep the content of the site on track, which does include some babysitting, without compensation.

There are other web forums, you know.

it's so incredibly hard to get banned if you don't act like a shithead. don't post porn or racist hateful shit and you wont get banned. it's painfully simple.
 
this isnt a fucking debate club. its not a matter thats up for discussion. youre not going to argue your thread into un-deletion. it got deleted, suck it up. and no, i don't want to stay anonymous hiding behind a computer. i'm going to start deleting threads and writing "i deleted your thread because it was stupid now fuck off"
 
Dont post dumb things = no longer a problem. Be a productive member of the website instead of posting idiocy... its not that hard.
 
9/10 are for being an alias for the sake of trolling, for being a troll, for posting porn, or for posting racist/hateful things.

Sitting behind a computer screen "anonymously" banning kids is no different than making alias' and trying to "troll". You guys care too much about the internet. Let it go or better yet, Go skiing.
