When the park may be back up?

Yea idk if this needs its own thread but any idea when the park may reopen and snow wont be made during the day? Obviously I understand they need to take advantage of the cold weather, and I am not complaining. But I am just curios so I can plan accordingly cause there really is no point to drive all the way up there if the park isn't open. Normally id be more patient, but there is literally nothing to do here since everyone I know is still in school and there is a shit load of down time with no skiing.
Also might as well ask, any idea what the setup may look like when it does reopen?
Thanks

I'm not sure what the word is on down time, but you could still go out and ski runs. I know, I know... it's not fun, or you can only ski runs for so long.

Snow report says this evening they will have it up and going. Not sure if that means a new set up or just the previous 4 rails they already have up.

While I'm a little disappointed that park kids can't just go skiing anymore, you'll be glad to know that as of right now the plan is to stay late tonight and reset the park. We can't really say what it will have yet, because honestly we haven't even thought about it or made a plan. But tonight after close we'll be resetting and building Audition Terrain Park. During the day today we're going to push out Jam Session and try and get it setup, however the ropetow won't be running for a few days so it will either have to be hiked or looped on backstage.

It just gets so damn boring doing groomers. When runs are built up, like deception got last year or how showtime looked on opening day, i'll spend all day on them besides that its just not worth it to me. 5 minutes up a chairlift and 20 seconds down a relatively flat incline.

This. Not worth it for me to drive 45 minutes to just ski runs, gets boring after the first hour, esp if you have if you go up to perfects by yourself like i do.

The snow is so good right now though. Super fun, and center has some whalebacks that were pretty fun to jump around on. Just have to get creative and find lines and fun things to do.

Exact same situation. Runs can be fun if your with others, but since UC gets out a week before everyone else, no one else is home. So its either do runs by yourself or just wait it out..

mini park is up and running. looking fun. big park got a lot of work done today with 3 jumps and more rails and will be running at top efficiency starting tomorrow with the rail lines being completed. maybe a sexy lady will stop by and hang out for the season...

Any idea when the park will be open tomorrow morning? WIll you guys be setting up in the morning or hope to have it done? Also. I do love very sexy ladies. Oh so much.

Oh hello, look at what I found.

Temperature fluctuations. And if you're talking about the edge, because a certain someone can't cut along a line :/

Hey dudes, just a quick heads up that the park will probably be opening late tomorrow as we're going to try and get some rebuilding/resetting done. No idea on a time.

About half of our entire plan. All the RFO rails are moved. C rail has moved a bit up hill and to the skiers left. 30 box is set up flat under the kink/up box, both of which will move eventually. Dub kink is in between c rail and the small jump, feeding into the 36' handrail (and yes, we know they are too close together, we goofed and didn't have time to fix it, but it will be fixed hopefully tomorrow.) 20' box set into the side of the jump all gypsy/pressy like, and the big jump got rebuild with a taller, steeper landing, and it's now more true table-ish/almost step over like, but it can be taken pretty big I think.

More to come though. Tall T will make his first appearance, most of the unmentioned boxes will move somewhere else. Jam Session will get a make over sometime too.

Awsome! I think the parks are in great shape, keep it up.

One question: On the PNS website why is the Terrain Report never updated? I can understand if there simply isn't time, but it's a great tool to check out the current status of the park.

Thanks

I have just updated the Terrain Park Map on perfectnorth.com. Sorry I don't update it enough. It is time consuming and frustrating because many of our features aren't on there and you can't really make it look accurate. Be sure to read the descriptions to be sure of what is actually there.
On a side note, photos from the RFO are uploaded at http://photos.perfectnorth.com so check it out.

I am fucking loving the park right now. So many options. I really like the 36 handrail as a flat handrail, and love the kink box as a long flat to short kink. DFD position is super. 2 things I saw/rode tonight that just didnt seem right. 1. Kicker to the 30 flat box, was almost too poppy, launched me high into the air every time, and I lost alot of speed. 2. there was a weird snow pile at the end of the c box that just got in the way of landings.

loving the park right now too. the style of the bottom jump needs to stay that way imo. pop on the lip is perfect and the landing matches up perfectly. i dont really like the step downs you guys build. the landings always seem too flat. but this more table like jump with steep landing that you have going right now is great. rails are prime. love the way the 36 is set up... down box, 30 box, dub kink.. all great. everything is really good. been having so much fun out there lately.

I concur about the bottom jump. The way it is right now is perfect. Only thing I dont like is the way the kink box is set up. what would be sick though is if it was set up as an up flat.

I was thinking, there is alot of space in between the flat boxes on the left side and the bottom boxes, so maybe put a barrel bonk there? Just a suggestion.

that rail looks awsome! hopefully it's gonna be set up flat so i can learn how to do them, i don't want to learn on a down or cannon rail.

also, why do they groom all the trails after a fresh snowfall? i understand grooming the blues and greens, but why hollywood and the trails off of runway? i was up at the slopes the day after we got 6in and there was barely any powder, just packed ice

Flat as in this shape? _____/

Any idea when its going in? And hopefully no park rebuild before monday, Ive yet to be able to hit the current set up.

Oh and just an FYI, Richard definitely deserves the black paint, if ya catch my drift..

it has been hard and icy as fuck for a while now... when temps are this cold preceded by rain like we had couple weeks ago ... i know its going to be shitty. but why dont they make a little snow to freshen things up? natural snow doesnt help at all.. .and i understand there is a huge base.... but its a huge base of ice. not to mention grooming the slopes at night instead of in the morning... thats gotta be the worst idea ever. the snow sucks to ski on the next day. it makes shredding park super sketch and dangerous. i dont mean to sound like a complainer but yeah i dunno. i guess i just wish it would warm up a little bit. tired of freezing my ass off and skiing ice.

It's groomed at night after closing, but it is also groomed in the morning. When it gets that cold there's just not a whole lot that can be done. As far as snowmaking, I dunno on that. I'm not sure if it would help or if it's a money issue or what. I know what you're saying though. Hopefully with these warm temps and a couple new rails coming out the park will get a bit more rad soon.

park is being worked on tonight with the down flat being put in as well as the 40ft water pipe rail. also the middle and bottom jump are being re done. bigger and better .

sick, will the park be open at 10ish tomorrow? I dont want to show up early if its still being worked on ya know..

Hey sorry I didn't respond to this earlier, despite. The park wasn't open until after 1 or 2 i'm guessing, and we got there at 4:30am to get started to try and make it as early as possible. So hopefully you were able to ride it yesterday, and hopefully it was good? We put it the waterline rail, or Big Willy, as i'm told.... then we put in Richard, the down to flat 4" rail, and then we put the 30' box next to the waterline. We moved Tall-T to the middle roller, and eliminated the middle jump; added a larger hit to the bottom feature, as well as a second take-off.
Jam Session also got some love, with all of the rails getting freshened up, added the brand new 20' box, re-set the 10' box, gave the tower box a pedestal so it isn't flush with the snow, and then we put the kink rail as an A-Frame.

So there is a mini park update, hopefully the parks ride good.
Slaydave, Totally agree, i was really hoping for some new snowmaking the last few cold nights, but the coldest nights keep falling on the weekend which means they can only make snow for a few short hours, and usually it takes that long to just get all of the guns fired up. I think that if it get's good and cold again soon on a weeknight you will see some fresh snowmaking.

Yeah I showed up early and they were still working so I just kind of did some runs and hit the mini park. But about the mini, I know its usually deserted, and never has a liftie during the day time, but I think if the main park is shut down then the little should be up and running. There was at least ten people in the mini just hiking with a few more lapping backstage to mini.

I may be barking up the wrong tree, and Ill even admit I rarely hit the mini, but I think if you shut one park down for maintenance you should at least have the other one running..

good news is my shin is fucked since some douche decided to cleet the shit out of it on sun nite in my soccer game but the real good news is that park sounds pretty legit right now

I think the park as just about as much stuff in it that can possibly fit right now... I can maybe get one more features on the middle self, but it is tight right now. Hope everyone likes it.
Get pumped for the big air! Only two weeks out and Vitamin Water is killing it!

Thoughts on the current set up? What would you like to see different, or a feature (reasonable) that you would like to see?

Switch up the FD box, it is retarded the way its set up. If the 20ft box up top is set down, then maybe switch the 30 flat to more upward/flat trajectory, not point in having two of the same feature pretty much. Other than that I think the park is sick.

i personally like the flat down box the way it is... but both ways are fun. oh by the way, its gonna be 58 tmrw, and 67 on thursday... 60 on friday... and its really kind of depressing me.... yeah, hope everyone had a good season.
