When does partly cloudy drop on iTunes?

because DVD's suck

im all for helping out production companies by buying dvd's because they make more of a dvd sale then an itune sale but honestly dvd's are pretty outdated.

why not sell the movie on a 1gb sandisk card or something along those lines? I know nothing about the actual production and distribution process so that may be a dumb idea, just seems stupid to me to be buying a movie shot in full hd in a format that isn't hd.

Yea obviously BluRay disks are hd but that just means i need to buy a bluray player

DVD's definitely aren't my prefered medium either but they are definitely the easiest for viewability.

Movie companies make 500% more profit on dvds vs itunes downloads. Just sayin, I like HD just as much as the other guy but really it'd be sick if they could include an HD copy with a dvd for $5 extra or something. Oh well, i should just buy a bluray player.

Anyways, selling a movie on a 1gb sick (btw HD ski movies are 3-5gb) would be very insecure and would be so easy to burn/upload to a torrent, etc. No ski movie company will do that.

I remember when ski movies weren't available on itunes and to buy and ship the dvds to my house it usually came to a total of $30+ per dvd. itunes = $10 per movie, so instead of only being able to afford one ski movie on my measly college budget, I can afford three.

Excuses, excuses everyone who says "im so poor" "im on a *insert age range* budget" is just making shitty excuses to not give up something else in their life. Take a weekend off from drinking or a week from smoking, if you do both and take a week off i bet you'll save like $100. Priorities people.

You are so argumentative, dude. Why waste your money on more expensive things when you can get them cheaper? Yes, I blaze and drink most weekends, but why should I give that up for a weekend to just buy something I can get for cheaper and more conveniently? Also I live on the corner of two main roads, so packages don't last long on my doorstep...

Classic ns thread immediately disintegrating into an argument...can anyone actually answer the question that was asked?

Classic internet thread. I don't believe they have announced the date yet, but as soon as they tweet it, somebody will post it up here.

Man, I'm with ya.. DVDs do suck! And this is coming from someone with a massive collection of them.

But no use clinging on to old technology just to "help the ski movie cause".

We're trying to bring the iTunes / Vimeo drop in the quickest way possible, it's in their hands now but the turnaround is never as fast as everybody wants. Soon though!

Why can't more companies do a digital download that is not through itunes, like 4bi9 did with "Keep Looking"?

I like dvd's a lot better. They normally include bonus content and like with l1p, the ua shirt makes it worth the 25 or whatever it costs. Plus I like having a hard copy incase my computer crashes I don't lose it/have to find a way to download it again

I buy level 1's blu-rays just so I can rip them to my computer in a higher quality. I believe that sunny alone was 9 GB, most of the time pirated/ torrented movies are cut down in quality for the sake of size.

Do I share my ripped version? No. And it really isn't that hard to rip movies, so it isn't much of an argument in terms of piracy concerns. As long as the ski community respects the work that companies are putting out than piracy shouldn't be much of an issue.

DVD's are not the easiest for "viewability" considering itunes takes about 5 secs to download before you can start to watch it, and some computers don't have disk players anymore.inb4 eheath/ehv NS rage
