When do most of you think you can't ski anymore?

search bared, found nothing, sorry if its a repost.

So I was wondering, realistically when do you think you won't be able to ski anymore (take all conditions into effect, acl tear, finances, etc.). I'm 17 and i probably won't be able to ski park anymore when im 25. Hopefully i can just ski the mountain and pow into my mid 30's. NS?

That is realistic for you? I'm planning on skiing park until I can't, which may be mid 30's, and I don't plan to stop skiing until I physically can't so mid-late 80's. That is not sarcasm either.

I don't mean throwing huge stuff in the park, but just average stuff by that time. Like the stuff I am doing now. I am 18.

I will ski park for as long as I can without it being seriously detrimental to my health. I hope to get good enough that 7s, small rodeos and mellow flips become easy tricks that I can do well into my 30s.

Park until end of college, skiing until i die. hopefully when im in the nursing home they can take me out for at least one powder day

I'm 20 and will probably stop skiing park in a few years but because I think it wont interest me anymore. I'm sure I could psychically take mellow laps in the park into my 30's. As far as just skiing, I rode up the chairlift at Sunday River with a guy who was in his 80's. And there was a guy at my home mountain who was in his late seventies and skied ever single day of the season, so i'm going to try to do that.

yeah i cant imagine not skiing in my late 30s. Im 23 and still get way better at park every year. I know I will have to start toning it down and going to bc more and more. I will ski pow until I cant walk. My dads 62 and still rips pow and i dont see him stopping anytime soon. Just doing more mellow shit.

yeah i get you there i just mean like gnarly mountain riding i really don't know when il be done skiing but the way im pushing it now idk how my body will take it going into late 30's early 40's

As long as I can. I see 70 year olds skiing at Mad River, I don't see why I can't do that unless I have too many injuries.

im not gonna stop till i die, witch at the risk taking rate im doing, probably means this will be my last season lolz but forreal

I'll be skiing until my legs are gone, then I'll use one of those chair things. So never basically.

I believe Klaus Obermeyer said something like this: "The mountain naturally brings you down it, don't fight it." He's rather old an still skis. Not to say I'm gonna hit the 60ft when I'm old, but gravity can do most of the work if you're just cruising.

When I feel I physically can't ski anymore, i.e. I can barely stand, then it'll be time to huck a 300 footer, go out with a bang, quadruple flipping.

i know a guy who is in his 70s who still goes and rips up the groomers at places like brighton, snowbasin, real mtns.

and there are old guys at my hill who ski every week for 3 hours in the morning when the groomers are best. and they are all in their late 60s mid 70s.

i have no illusions about ripping the hill up until i die, but i plan to ski (not tear it up) until its physically impossible for me.

my dad is 53 and has only been skiing about 6 years, and he skis pretty well for someone who learned at his age. he cant ski anything super steep or even remotely bumpy, but hes out there pushing his limits, and keeps up on groomers. its all about having fun.

well I am probably going to ski park till I am at least 25, I mean 24-25 is your prime if you are a guy for most sports.
I will probably ski till i die, but skiing will eventually become more go to the hill in my range rover, eat nice breakfast ski a couple runs, go to the restraunt for lunch a few more runs and then apres. I am going to be your steriotypical rich old skier hopefully.

im gonna ski park as long as i can, but park skiing=death to girl knees. however im gonna just ski till im dead or can no longer move

That's impressive. Thread creator's definitely setting the bar low. I'm 43 and my goal for the season is to land my first cork 7 and rode 7. I'll post vid. I'd say keep rippin until shit starts falling off. Then you can consider groomers.

my dad still pulls a good backscratcher once in a while and he is nearing his 50s

i would say ill be doing parking into my 30s, just doing mellow things to show kids that "old guys" still like to fly

but from there ill mellow out and focus on pow and just cruising with the occasional reminiscent run through the park to see what the kids are doing.

oh and btw, if you ski park now, you will definitely be going with your children some day.

my friends dad is a terrain attendant and ski patrol, I'd say hes in his late 40's, all he does in the winter is ski the park

when i become too old to ski ima get a real expensive camera and start filming everyone. ima be the awesome old guy that everyone likes

Well my dad is 48 and still skis park (kinda. he hits the average jumps)

and the last time my grandpa was up was when he was 72.

I plan on skiing till I can't walk. then I might get a sit ski...

exactly what i was thinking. 2012 is gonna be so sick, gonna do as many drugs as i can, go up to a mountain and when Armageddon starts, go down the longest tree run as fast as i can. that way, it'll be a race to see what kills me first. drugs, armageddon, or a tree

hopefully I will still be able to ski the bc until my late 70s...assuming I dont get messed up dh biking
