When did this become an actual thing?

i consider it “real” because i know if i were to try, my ankles would be cut to shit so props to them for their weird spin tricks or whatever the fuck they call it

You're quite a few years behind on this big guy.

Not to go all "back in my day" on you, but Razor scooters were fire in the early 2000s. There were Hi-8 scooter edits before YouTube was invented.

The scoots with wheels have been a thing for longer than NS.

Probably easier to track down the origin or the snow scoots since those are popping up more recently. Just like the razor type scooters but with snowboards instead of wheels. Front board is like a 1/3rd snowboard and turns. I now see them every season and guys can actually jib all the features and ride the trees etc.

Hasnt street scooting been around as long as the scooter it self?

I will go there, “back in my day” this is what a scooter was, we didn’t have much concrete or black top where I grew up so it needed to be able to go off roading.lol and that’s right, I look at Pinterest.

I used to have a razor scooter game on the PS1 where you got to rip around a skatepark. It was sick. Then I tried to scooter at a skatepark and ate shit hard. the end

I had one of those!!!!! It was so nice to get a scooter after this one that I didn't have to inflate the tires on.

Gonna get hate for this but oh well:

That was actually pretty sick.

very sick. Tilt makes some really sick parts and their team is stacked. I have some tilt bars and they dope af

The problem with scootering to me is that its never that sick. Homies throw crazy shit now adays and mad props to these guys, but still its not that cool looking. Any style I've ever seen any of these guys have is so forced looking. Maybe itll be cooler one day, but they're so stuck to the handle bars that its never loose like good stylish skiing.

I hated on scoots until I watched a few vids of Ryan Williams. Beyond impressive.

Was going to say the same thing. I'll still talk shit about scooters but Ryan Williams is a freak of nature

You could argue that he is almost as good on a BMX as he is a scoot. Proof that some are just born with "it".

The tricks are honestly impressive coming from a skater, but scooters act all High and Mighty like they're better than us skaters which pisses me off. Also they straight up copied every skater aesthetic known to man, they're not original with their looks just the tricks. If they ever get in they way of me while im in the streets then I'll start to have a problem.

Yeah but every action sport, and also everything else copies skateboarding.
