When did skiing and smoking weed become lame?

i think all the people who are saying that most skiers dont smoke are including ALL skiers...gapers, kids, grandparents, etc.

however, if you take a sample of NSers or just park skiers, that's a different story.

personally, i say fuck yea weed. especially on a pow day. not so much when i'm tryna hit large booters though, they start to look like i'll die haha.
 
Yeah because most park skiers are under 30, and most people who smoke weed are in that age category.

Your dumb weed has been part of the free skiing seen for a LONG time this year I was out in the side country while skiing down I saw a group of old ski bums (in there 50's) token it was pretty tight/claim

I would more attribute this to repeated suffocation. Holding your breath for long periods of time over and over will kill brain cells.
 
Uhhh, you haven't noticed this happening already? Because I sure as hell have. Skiing is getting way too cool for my blood. Everyone so concerned about how cool they look and shit.... Get real. Buy some clothes that fit instead of imitating the latest trends. Formulate your own style. Go Ski.

But generally skiing should just be about having fun and progression and doing something that you love, regardless of ability or how much (or not) you smoke.

When worrying about what other people think about how you have fun skiing makes you have less fun... you're having fun wrong.

Smoking weed and skiing have never gone hand in hand, atleast not in the scandinavia.

People can smoke and skii how much they want, I couldnt care less as long as they aren't pointing it out.

that could be it or they are waiting till they get off the hill after they get done doing dubs and trips. It's a big reward at the end of a long sesh in the park in my eyes. Before we could get away with smoking and parkin it up, but now that there is a lot more risk and danger involved with the tricks they are doing nowadays, Im sure people are waiting til they take a break or get off the hill to smoke.
 
Old school ski movies use to show it so much. Just straight up ski bumming it and getting fucked, whether it be getting stoned or drunk. Go on like the ski channel on demand and watch some of the old school movies. It's all about just enjoying yourself with friends, getting fucking and being rebellious. It does seem like skiing has become more "professional" I guess. But sometimes I feel like we should stop trying to fit into the main stream and just be outsiders doing our own thing ya know?
 
the thing is, is that is still free and fun along with the competitive aspect. to many it is a chill sport that they do to get away from the world and then many use skiing as a lifestyle and make money by doing what they love and winning comps so they continue there life as a skier. the free and fun thing is always there, just shown in different ways. to the smoking weed point, personally i love it, some dont some people i guess choose to have fun without weed..
