Whats wrong with NS

The more and more i am on this web site, the more and more i see this problem. Its seems like for large amount people in the threads, they would rather try to call someone out, or insult them instead of trying to answer a question or make a real contribution to the web site.

The purpose of this website is so we can share ideas, and have real conversations about real topics. Instead, people are just strait dicks. Were all hear for the same reason. We all love the same thing, so why the hate? Maybe its all the 14 year olds being immature, maybe its a mix of everybody. But its so annoying to see all the hate in the threads.

There is a spot for debate however. Civilized debate is a good thing. It can be constructive, and I do see some of it here. but really guys. shits old.

i try to stay positive most the time and help out when i can, but somethings just bug me
 
the site has essentially always been like that, since its been known widespread. People talk about the good old days not realizing that as far back as i've been browsing ns, it's been like this.
 
i feel like people, regardless of how close they are to the age 14, consistently call everyone on ns "14 year olds"

i would understand if it was a wizened 30 year old who's 'seen it all' but coming from 15 year olds rocking a sweet beanie while inside on the computer it just seems somewhat hypocritical...

but seriously, i get what you're saying. 80% of the posts i read these days are one of three things:

1) hateful comments that don't even make me laugh.

2) incorrect information.

3) useless shit just to raise their post count.

unfortunately, none of these things will ever go away. NS has always been filled with this and it will never change. sorry. :-(
 
you've only been on this site for two years and you think NS is going downhill? boy you weren't on this site when it was good so the best you experienced was bullshit already. its the fucking internet. stop crying.
 
This basically sums it up. So many people post shit to either raise there count or their karma. It's a rarity to see a thread with high quality posts
 
Man, you have no idea. Sure, the main forums are a bit more cluttered than they used to be, but there are regionals and cults if you want serious or thoughtful or entertaining conversation. In 2003, if you made a thread, you would usually wait half an hour before somebody responded. In 2006, every response in your thread would be an impressive string of obscenities directed toward you. Now in 2010 there's some clutter and some hate in the forums, but it's not as bad as it used to be, and there are enough people on the site now that you can get questions and threads answered immediately. Not to mention that NS is a becoming a bigger and more reliable skiing news/media source every day.
 
I wish everyone acted like they were part of a community. So much hate has been on NS since I've been here (2.5 years don't hate) and its pretty dumb. I mean hating on kids because they arn't as good as you at park or because of their style is just stupid. People on this site care way to much about how others ski/look than about themselves.

But thank God everyone I have met in real life that has been an NSer has been a really cool dude and a lot of my really good friends are NSers so the least we can hope for is that not everyone is an asshole in person who is an asshole on NS.
 
The length of time I've been on here has nothing to do with what I'm talking about bud. I have followed the web site long before i singed up. And do be honest with you, I have never seen a post made by you that actually helped someone.
 
i dont know how great of an idea this is but i think ns should get rid of karma and counting posts. maybe it will get rid of people who dont really care about skiing but are more or less on the site as a game
