What's with bibs?!

So like in the x-games, dew tour and any sort of comp the competitors have to wear bibs for id I guess.

I would say 50% of the time the guys only have one arm in the bib, like I'ave seen T-Wall, Russ, and other competitors. So like the bib has two holes for your arms to go through but only one hole is being used, with the other side of the bib just dangling there with the other arm not inside the bib.

So like why? Does it just kinda hang there randomly, or is it so it doesn't restrict movement.

The reason you wear a bib is for the judges. You don't want any reason for them to forget who you are or for there to possibly be a mistake with identifying the rider. With a bib number on you, its a super easy reference point even if they gap on who the rider is.
