How did skiing get associated with acting like gangsters?

I just watched the 4bi9 video and it was full of suburbian white kids acting like thugs.

Ill admit I like wearing baggy clothes but I think acting like gangsters is stupid.

ITS A WELL KNOWN FACT RICH WHITE KIDS FROM SUBURBIA WISH THEY WERE BLACK, EVER SEEN MALIBUS MOST WANTED? SAME SHIT, BUT FUNNIER BECAUSE THEY HAVE SKIS.

hahahahahahahahahahaha, i love these people hating on 4bi9 for being white kids acting thug. i mean who cares? it's funny to us..we enjoy it. fuck off bitches.

hahahaha if you knew 4bi9 you would change your mind.

these are the NICEST kids ive ever met. so what if they act gangster? its fun. i enjoy it.

I'll rap too if you want me to jeff.

But I'm not that great at the gangster talk.

Still working on my gangster walk.

nope. white kids with skis started wearing baggy clothing in the late 80s. By the early 90s, skateboarders had noticed the ski clothes trend and also started wearing baggy clothing. Black gangstas soon followed suit. But then Al Gore led what historians now refer to as "the white guy movement" and started wearing boring tight clothes. Somehow Al Gore and the black gangstas became famous and the baggy clothes wearing skiers didn't.

Now people associate baggy clothing with black gangstas and and skinny clothes with white guys. Unfortunately for this stereotype, most skiers are white people (like Al Gore).
