I have a 93 Honda Civic with 280,000+ miles on it, and pretty much the only reason I haven't gotten a new car is because of it's milage
It varies for me between 35mpg and 45mpg depending on the weather and the traffic. I can go a week and a half and only use a half a tank (I fill up when I get down to half a tank).
I usually get about 22 on a tank, and most of my driving is short distances (to school and back) so it's almost all on a cold engine, with lots of starts and stops.
2000 Ford Focus hatchback 3-door, 5 speed manual transmission
roughly 45 mpg. made it from Boise ID to Breck in 2 tanks exactly, each costing 30 bucks for 12 hours of driving. So in the entirety the trip costed 120 bucks, not bad splitting it 4 ways.
Last time I did the numbers I ran 400 miles in 3 days with a 12ft box trailer o back loaded. Got 10mpgs. Before that, I got 12 one weekend towing the team oat all weekend.
Team boat all weekend... Usually I don't drive a ton right now but I do get decent millage. Running 31x10.5 toyo open country a/ts. I've learned tires really help the mpgs. I do agree though I probay get single digits more then o realize.
