What’s the most overrated ski trail of all-time?

It’s probably talked about on here a million times but I’m excited for this season soo...

For me it’s Jaws of Death at Mt. Snow but I think they have changed it to just Jaws now. I thought It was so crazy when I was a young, now it feels like such a short run.

i mean corbets couloir seems sick, but kinda tame imo compared to other runs inbounds, like S&S couloir which is right besides corbets but way gnarlier i think. Corbets is still dope tho dont get me wrong

Hank bilous entry is legendary

I went to JH for a long weekend hoping to hit Corbett’s a few years ago. Didn’t get a chance at it cause it was closed due to lack of snow. When we left it preceded to be snowiest January in the history of JHOLE talk about FOMO. But that’s insane if S&S is wilder, cause I got to ski up to Corbett’s and it was pretty intimidating.

NBC Chute- Whitefish Mountain

one of the few somewhat steep trails up here, shore chute followed by a long cat track. One jerry slides it and removes all the snow for everyone else.

The entry to s&s is stupid

search it up on YouTube, it’s so crazy

Yea I searched it a bunch of times, and I 100% believe you it’s just crazy to me that it’s gnarlier then Corbett’s after staring down into it

I skied Corbet's last year and it's sick but definitely over hyped. I definitely didn't drop it (I rode in from the side) cause it was my first time at a "real" mountain, but the drop seemed pretty doable if you regularly ski big mountain. After you're in, it's just normal, steepish terrain. The only reason Corbet's is famous is cause it's considered in bounds. Corbet's isn't even the gnarliest run at Jackson, like you said S&S is right next to it and way more insane.

Yeah s&s has a fucking massive mandatory cliff in, probably minimum of a 40 foot drop and is much narrower and I think it has a decent fall line. Mad crazy.

Also overrated AF:

The cirque at snowbird. Don't get me wrong, the runs are incredible, but you have to take at least a tram to get back to it. Gadside cirque is actually where it's at since you can lap it via little cloud if you know what you're doing.

I'm not sure if S&S counts as a run seeing as it isn't really open to the public. Corbet's is gnarly if you drop the cliff or trick into it but it's very low consequence if you mess up. Most people just awkwardly slide down the mass of snow at the top anyway.

Mary jane at winter park. People really made stickers about the single run, yet it is just a very average blue in the middle of the mountain

When I think of Mary Jane I think of a whole part of the moutain filled with bumps that most people take one lap on before giving up. It takes legs to run a day of laps in the Mary Jane section.

Running laps on bumps all day at a colorado resort? yup sounds about right, did a lot of that growing up. it sucks, and thats why winter park and mary jane are especially shit

yeah you're right Mary Jane sucks. make sure you tell your friends too. It's only moguls and boring tree runs. don't go there

Pali at A-Basin. Unless it's really good, it's just hardpacked bumps and icy af near the top.

same sentiment as above. I honestly don't even know why people go to flat basin when you could just go shred park at keystone.

Idk man there are tons of park options which is dope and if you know where you're going there's lots of good stuff at MJ that isn't just bumps. Lots of good trees, some secret jumps and huts. WP has a good vibe compared to other large colorado resorts

I aint a hater, playa. I just got intensely triggered when some idiot tried to act like winter park is a hidden gem & used the "go tell your friends" quote to get one less person there so they shred it THAT much harder when it is arguably the shittiest resort in Colorado.

Maybe add trigger warnings to your posts??? I got triggered faster than I would have liked to.

Mary Jane is cool for what it is but it does get boring after a season or two. The Cirque is almost never open and you can only lap Challenger so many times before it gets old. Dont get me wrong, there are some dope pillow lines out there but all in all there is not that much variation. I still have love for the mountain and have had some good times there but that is my honest take on it.

Yeah I agree. I feel pretty underwhelmed by it now that I have skied at Bridger for a couple years and skied WP for many more. I never have a bad time there, though

It does have a good vibe. I always liked that it was not right on I-70. Driving from Boulder if you take HWY 6 up then your only on I-70 for a few miles before getting off on 40. The switchbacks were fun to mob on with my Subaru too.

you right dizzidy dizawg MJ is definitely shitty. tell ya friends to stay the the fuck away. cause you are definitely right about that mountain sucking unless you like moguls, ride soul 7s, and drink margaritas

Skiing bridger makes skiing in colorado look so fucking shitty. Terrain, snow, culture in bozeman, etc.

I think yall need to tone it down with how much you sound like youre from colroado, ok? ok

Imagine two guys chilling at a bar reminiscing about old stories over a brew and some drunk asshat comes up and yells, "Fuck you, ya dont know shit!"

Cause that is how you sound right now.

Dude so today I took this huuge bong rip when I woke up and then went and rock climbed up Flatiron #3 and smoked a spliff at top. Got back in my Subie and drove to this local microbrewery for happy hour and watched the Rockies get slaughtered. Anyway, heard La Nina is gonna be good this year, can't wait to hit Abay!

Its not that serious tho, I grew up driving my subaru to copper, breck and a basin so im just poking fun at what I lived for a couple years ago.

mhmmm that doesnt really sound colorado to me, i mean you would know a lot of people will go for your throat if you call it "abay" since "abay" is "just a body of water" its actually called "a basin".

Bro did you have a Colorado flag Subaru badge? It doesnt count unless you have the badge.

What Subaru were you rocking? I have a 2006 Impreza 2.5i and holy hell that flat four with no turbo could barely get me over the pass with no air to suck in.

a shitty one, had mudflaps tho so...

How about must underrated? I’m gonna go with Big Dipper at Killington, I’m a little bias though cause it’s my favorite run

gadchutes are great but they tend to load up a bunch with wind and it gets sketchy. its kinda hard to get the perfect conditions for those to ski cuz its either slabby or just pure ice and hard to get into on lowtide periods. had a day tho last year where it skied like fuckin butter, its so much fun to rip when its good.

but yeah, starting to venture away from shit like the cirque a bit more after these brutal inbounds avy cycles we had last year, and patrollers starting to get carried in slides on routes. i think a season ago, i was up there in march and that thing slid with public around which prompted them to close down for the day which isnt the first time theyve done that.

Highboy at Alta, I tried to ski it really early season one time and hit a bunch of rocks and tomahawked then one of the rocks rolled down and hit me in the back. :(
