Title says all.

RULES:

no special or limited edition skis

no skis that have been used by pros

if I go to their store, what's the most expensive ski?

hm idk but ive seen some volkl v werks that were more than a thousand

kastle def has some super expensive skis

i think ive seen some ""limited edition!"" skis made by some douchers like porsche or something that were stupid expensive

super expensive skis are retarded anyway, you can get an insanely good pair for a few hundred and there's no reason to spend more on something that is getting smashed between your feet and a mountain

Lacroix's ski package including poles, goggles and ski case is 67,000 bucks and can be purchased at their store in France.

Every once in a while you'll see a pair of Lacroix Skis at a Gorsuch going for 2k - 5k -- skis only. I believe they only come in 2 sizes 163 or 170.

Umm jskis, they were $10,000 but they have had sales, each ski is made by the touch of a true pro... Steve Stepp

At our shop I know that we have some atomic race skis going for like 1300 or 1130, i cant remember, but yeah,if its an all out GS double deck race ski, than that's probably one of the most expensive.

Are you sure? Most of the ones I have seen have been around the 1200 Euro mark. That puts them on par with most RD skis.

Atomic controls & produces Volant skis, which have been turned into a luxury ski brand for Europe (it will be re-entering the USA this year as such) and the most expensive ski in the range is about 3,000€. But I'm pretty sure the most expensive production skis (not special one-offs for random luxury fashion brands) are from Zai. They typically retail between 6-7000€ and have some crazy tech to them, like granite (yes actual stone) cores.

Yeah my friends and I were pretty intrigued with Zai. The shapes look so weird and unorthodox. Are they the real deal? Or just a marketing ploy...

Their shapes/geometry are super Euro-carver so I've never been all that interested to try them out but they can't really be 6,500€ better than a 500€ ski. The price/value gap there is retardedly huge.

I was going to try to make a post about how it's kind of a bummer that Volant has been steered in that direction, and that it's weird for luxury ski brands to even exist. Especially considering most companies, large and small are all making pretty nice product nowadays. I wanted to tie the Spatula into the post as part of Volant's history, and gave it a quick Google to find some pictures. I found this instead:

Written by Shane. Reading through that is a testament to just how progressive and forward thinking Shane and the Volant engineers were at the time. The technicalities of what he's written in there as well, so damn good.

Theres a company called Carradan that makes really expensive skis. The Mamba, their most expensive, is $19,000.

Theres a reason luxury ski brands exist, Russians. I've lost count of the times in Couche that I have been sat on a lift next to someone whos ski gear cost more than I earn in a year. The market for this stuff in the circles of the super rich in Europe is off the chart.

This. The world's mega-rich don't really come to North America, they go to St Moritz or Chamonix or Kitzbuehel, etc. No joke, 100% true story: last year I was in St Moritz on business and a very royal fancy Arabian family was visiting/skiing. The princess wanted to go for a hike but didn't want to use the local horses so she had her personal camels flown over for the week. These are also the kind of people who don't rent gear- they buy it all at full retail and then lterally leave it in their hotel/condo when they are done as if it were garbage. Happens all the time.

That's annoying, I literally have to work my ass off all summer to afford the ski gear I need.

wagner and folsom make some pricey, full custom skis. Around 1100 to 2000 bucks for a real ski, for real skiers on real terrain.

new carbon fiber volkls have a comma in the price tag. Not a super luxury or limited production model.

and the regular katana, one of the most loved bread and butter skis ever, is discontinued. wtf!

I cleaned toilets for 3 weeks to afford new boots and a pass.

Made me appreciate my education.

Company I used to rep for had a lot of the school trips, Royal high of Dubai from memory turned up on the schools own 737.

I've seen some interesting sights through my time working in Europe in and out of the ski stuff, was out in Ukraine a few years back working in the Agri business sector not as mental as the Russians in Couche but close, now theres a place of some interesting sights, sat on a ski lift with a family clad from head to to in Bogner, their clothing came to more than I earn in a year.
