none of that is right. true tail and blunt are the exact same grab...crossed or uncrossed. the second pic is of a toxic grab where you grab the inside edge between the tail and binding.

i havent ever heard anybody call any grab a toxic grab. what is this, 2004? blunt is the blunt part of your tail, tail is the side of your tail. both can be crossed or uncrossed.

Yeah, I thought a blunt was straight-legged tail grab, tail is a crossed grab on the tip, and a toxic was crossed grab on the inside of the ski.

yeah. pretty much

Blunt = True Tail (the tip of the tail, crossed or uncrossed, doesn't matter)

Toxic = inside of ski, behind the binding, crossed

Tail = outside of ski, behind the binding, crossed

If I'm not mistaken, those are the 3 "tail" grabs (I know some people who rename their uncrossed blunts various different things, but it doesn't really matter).

i always thought toxic was opposite ski not inside. like right hand to left ski behind your back as a tail grab. i've seen a vid and will post it tomorrow as i am on mobile right now.

no fuck the word tindy. skiers should not be using that word to describe a legitimate grab. do you have any idea what it means in snowboarding?

Blunt: true tail. Toxic: skis crossed, inside of ski, in-between binding and tail. Tail: same as toxic EXCEPT on the outside side of the ski. Sorry I didn't use breaks, I'm on mobile.

this is correct.
Also, I've heard it this way before. A blunt is when you grab the same way you are spinning; spin left and grab left hand to left ski. A tail is when you grab with your right hand to right ski when spinning left. I don't think many people use this terminology, but it's something I've heard before. It makes sense to me because if you are spinning left and grab the tail of your right ski, it looks way different than grabbing the tail of your left ski.

the way you`d grab your ski as if it were a blunt.

all this talk of bluntz is making me wanna blaze

There's a bit of a square vs. rectangle paradox here that will make retards argue over it for days. All you need to know is the closer to the end the better.

no, it's not 2004, but clearly you were 7 that year if you've never heard of a toxic grab.
And all this nonsense about grabbing the outside of your tail, it's tail, and the true tail is blunt is malarky. If you grab the outside of your "tail", you fucking missed and rolled with it. AND, yes, that IS a tindy, and YES, it's a boof, wack, grab that carries all of the shame of its snowboard counterpart.
blunt=tail, end of fucking story. If you're skis are crossed it doesn't change anything. If they're uncrossed you can say either uncrossed tail, or uncrossed blunt.
boom

blunt is true tail

toxic is inside

tail is outside

but no one says toxic anymore and pretty much any tail grab you see is a blunt.

now the way i see it is a tailslide would be like hopping in lip and landing on the tails, whereas a bluntslide would be hopping in tips over first and landing on your tails. in skating it doesnt really matter whether you hold it up or not its still a blunt. noseslides and noseblunts would be the opposite of this. noseblunt, pop in lip, land on the noses. noseslide, hop in regular tips over and land on the noses. its like on a skateboard. it makes sense.

kinda late post but if you spin left grabing right hand to right ski is tail, left hand to left ski is blunt, if you miss the true tail its just not as cool but still the same grab. also uncrossed are just called uncrossed tail/blunt. thats all no inside outside stuff

Matt Walker's blunt's are so nice! Cork 9 blunts are probably the sickest trick aside from a nice floaty blunt 3 or 5

This is tail, but so dope as well.

LJ huh??? from Junction 133 on Vimeo.

casula is correct. And if you grab on the outside of the ski at the same latitude as the toxic, it's called a tindy.
