How come whenever someone posts a pic it gets deleted? It can't be that bad for the company to generate hype! And didn't somebody get in a lot of trouble for an Armada leak? I guess we can just wait for SIA, but I just want to know if NS could get in legal trouble or something big.
 
yeah this is really lame. I've got a handful of some good pics from next years K2 and oakley lineup but I can't even upload them let alone post them LAAAAAAME
 
yeah it's weird. i've seen 2 new models or line skis and line's new hoodies in the carinthia report vids.
 
I was the one that got in trouble for Armada pics.

It is a fine line when pics of next years gear should be posted..

In my case, we are ordering 09/10 gear right now for delivery in the next few months, so obviously we would have dealer books with graphics etc. In the case of the northern hemisphere, you generally don't see product showings until SIA, which hasn't happened yet

I think the reason companies don't like pics being posted yet is that sales haven't been maximised for this season. Kids that see next years gear may want to wait for the new model to drop and therefore won't buy the current stock. Secondly there are marketing implications associated with the launch of new seasons product which need to be kept under control.

I can't imagine any legal implications of posting pics on this site, but the companies might get pissed off.

Give it a few days and the 09/10 ski pics thread will surely start.
 
i understand and agree with what you say, but as a counter argument, why would the companies release there future products to athletes at this time? they are the real promoters of the product, and are more likely to deter someone from buying a current model when they see all the athletes on new gear, they give them this gear because they obviously want to start promoting it. even i am able to order a pair of 09/10 skis now fromt the company i am with so companies cannot be that concerned about it. i dont know, its confusing
 
I guess for testing before mass production and also to build hype?

It all has to tie in with their marketing, having a new product dribble out into the marketplace isn't the best way to promote it - the launch process is critical
 
haha well i was the one to post the armada pics in a thread, and armada got mad at me so shmuck took them down and wanted to know where i got them from so i let him know i got them from you...... sorry
 
Companies have always asked us to keep pictures of their next seasons gear off the site until after SIA, so we do.
 
If someone upload some pics to K2's line for next year at imageshack or something then pms me a link then it would be maddd karma rewards.

(i just want to see the extremes or whatever is replacing it)
