What's the deal with mustard/yellow hats?

Everyone and their mother has the same colored hat in Bozeman. My sources have informed me this phenomenon is not limited to my location and has taken over ski towns everywhere. Is it some strange hypebeast cult? Lack of unique style? Fuckboys?

I got myself a bright yellow/orangy beanie after i saw this snowboarder that had a really cool style and he was wearing an orange beanie under his helmet. He was wearing camo with it and i thought he looked so cool.

It's not my bag either but hey, I don't make the rules.

You know what is my bag?...last year's colorway at a deep deep discount. Maybe I'll rock one next year and everyone will say "that old dude is sooooo winter 18/19 just look at his mustard yellow hat/garment/accessories.
