What's the biggest influence in your style?

so, many of us have different styles and i would like to know how you would personally describe your style and the inspirations to it. this means skiing style, not so much outerwear, but if you want to share that too, it's ok by me.

for me, i would say that pool and park skateboarding gives me a lot of inspiration, because they base mostly on flow and linking stuff together, and i've been able to get a few trick inspirations from them as well. i may not have the biggest or techiest tricks but man i love to get natural gaps and trannys!

tell us the origins of your style.

Skateboarding defines my style the most. I prefer a slew of tricks that flow together easily, using the entire mountain as one big feature.

Fear defines my style. You should see my gracefully flailing in the air with my eyes closed, it's really a thing of beauty.

Tappy and hard charging stuff. Not too technical or even that good, but always love to calm tranny, air some side booters, and when I'm not sucking the big one in the park, and occasional nose tap to switch.

I had a flowy style in preseason, lots of arm movement on the landings, now I just bone out all of my landings and yell "dipset" because '09 lives forever.

NS has been and is definitely the biggest influence on my style. I learned everything on here, whether it's a style I like or not. After bang, baggy steeze, hardcore clean as hell comp style, or buttery flowy tranny finding.

Regarding the style I personally aspire to have, I'd have to say a combination of Phil and Henrik's flow and butters (along with simple yet rarely done rail and boxes tricks, especially from b&e a few years back) and an addiction of doing trannys everywhere.

Unfortunately, not being anywhere close as skilled as any of my favourite pros, I probably still look like a flailing penis with a strong racing background when I try to press a rainbow from the side and tranny to the other side...

racing and bumps surprisingly. I ski fast (60+mph) and like to hit tranny, ride pipe when its around and not a tube of ice, and bonk/tap features.

I usually straight-line down and use the mountain as one big ass park. I don't really like the park other than the jumps which are nice to hit one in a while.

Whatever music I'm listening to usually has a pretty big impact on my riding style. Whether i'm listening to something smooth and flowy or fast and aggressive; my skiing usually falls in line with that.

I had these evil voices in my head telling me to change my style I followed these voices until Tanner Hall came into my head and told the bad evil voices to leave. Thank you T Hall 420 blaz it

candide . he made me quit racing in like 2000. seeing him do cork 5 in super park in a movie, was a life changing experience for me.

Skateboarding in a skatepark cause I love tranny finding. Also downhill mountain biking, I love charging hard and finding big lines.

I have an older friend more less an aquantince that I ski with sometimes who's very good and has one of the best styles I've seen and skiing with his really has influenced my style. Just watching videos from the b and e show has helped a lot too and to top it off skateboarding.

This is so true, I've learned everything on this site. Except .lencon taught me how to ski and am still a noob

Outerwear wise I get a lot of inspiration from B-dog. Skiing wise I like to try and match Black Steve, I'm not even close to as good as him but i love his style and the way he skis.

I was thinking more of just attempting the impossible really slowly on boxes and going crazy fast with a couple speed checks when I'm not in the park.

cheerleading/gymnastics/motocross somehow all mash cheer/gymnastics for my aireal awarness and motocross i guess for amplitude and balls? but im also 6'2 and really awkward looking skiing but it adds to my funny style i guess

the biggest influence on my style is doing whatever i can to land on my face and ride away. This typically involves karate-like leg kicking, and the use of imaginary manual windows.

Name dropping... Id say Asian Allen, Skier Steve, and Craig Weiler have the had the biggest impact on my skiing. I've been watching them ski for years.

Does anyone feel that style varies between continents? I grew up skiing in Europe but moved to Canada and I always chat to my buddies about the differences in style. I personally feel here in North America the skiing is a lot more style-orientated. I think it's more flowy... and I think I prefer it. Europe I feel is maybe a little behind, but more clinical / techy. I may be way off as I haven't skied Europe for about 3 years.

So yeh I feel style is massively influenced by the people skiing around me, and that varies across the world

I have no influences on my style that I know of, I just ski and whatever it looks like is whatever I got. I wish I looked like john ware and will Berman when I don't have poles though, but I definitely dont
