Newschoolers What is the best steak you have ever had?

Down in Texas - never had anything that comes remotely close, and i've eaten steaks all over the world....

Filet Mignon at some fancy restaurant for my sisters going away to college meal. I love steak, especially with the garlic potatoes

Oh and as for type of steak - well anything, filet, new york strip, etc etc.... although i had a chateaubriand once in Azerbaijan (of all places!!) that was epic - but still, steaks in Texas can't be beat... even by Steaks in Argentina.... yup, been there too... a world tour of steak eating!

Shit, I've had a lot of good steaks. Hard to choose. I think the most memorable one I've had recently was a filet I had at Spago in Beaver Creek last winter, or else the tenderloin down the street at Splendido that they cut right off the bone for us.

two inch thick ribeye grilled by yours truly.

If I could either have that steak again or fuck a hottie I would probably pick the steak. It was that good.

I miss having access to a very very expensive grill. Its not the same grilling on some cheap piece of shit and I don't have the time for charcoal. It doesn't get hot enough for a quality steak either.

I had a prime rib that was so good i ate 3 pounds of it. I would literally give my left nut to have it every night.

The cowboy chop at Vintage steakhouse in downtown Calgary. Best cut of beef in beeftown. It'll run you 75 bucks or so. This is what the cut looks like.

I'm hungry now.

there's a restaurant down the street from my house called The Rail Stop. They serve a locally grown angus steak with some sort of butter garlic sauce on top w/ mash potatoes and asparagus. SO FUCKING GOOD.

My dad makes some really good steak. However, the best steak I've ever had was at a fancy restaurant in Sacramento. Forgot what it's called but it's only a couple of blocks from the Sacramento Broadway Theater. Anyway, it was an Argentinian flank steak with some sort of fancy aioli on the side. It was absolutely amazing. Hands down the best steak I've had

my dad made me some USDA Prime, was cooked pretty rare, and it was very tasty.

but so damn delicious...

the most memorable steak i had recently was a filet at this restaurant in Philly called Union Trust, yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

A steak at a small restaurant in Siena, Italy. They didn't even specify what the cut was. Just some steak grilled with salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil. Simplicity at it's finest.

A nice tenderloin in a restaurant in chicago with a red wine syrup and pomme frites

soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fucking good

also a pepper steak at a french-american restaurant in st. paul. pepper steaks are the shit, no matter what cut (as long as its not flank or chuck or that shit.. you know what i mean)

I grill a mean steak. I probably do it once every three days in the summertime. My friend gave me his uncle's great recipe for this delicious steak sauce. Soooooooo fucking good.

Best I've had lately was a steak with a cafe sauce and pommes frites at le relais de l'entrcote in Paris a year or so ago. Absolutely amazing.

At home I'll toss a ribeye on the grill or pan sear it to medium-rare and it turns out pretty good though too.

JD got it right, best cut money can buy is a dry-aged bone-in ribeye, highest grading you can find. most butcher shops have usda prime, or you can always try to find a wagyu one though that'll set you back several bills just for the meat to cook at home, at a restaurant it'll easily run 3-400$.
