What's the best DSLR on the market right now? (for video)

larger sensor typically means easier to get shallow DOF, often better lowlight performance, and no/less of a crop

Smaller sensor typically means it is easier to focus, often a smaller package, more lenses can be used, and a speed booster can help with the crop.

What I like about m43 cameras for skiing is that many of the native lenses are very sharp, they can take any lens I want to put on them, and I never really have to worry about stopping down enough to ensure proper focus. With a wide-angle, I don't really even need to focus.

check out eoshd, they are putting the gh4 and the a7 against each other. Both are very good cameras, but one may edge out the other in certain areas.

If only there was a website where you could search or ask anything you want to and get multiple results...oh wait.

Was just messing with ya man, I've heard sony has some fairly decent dslr's for film

I think basing an opinion about a camera based on one test video is absurd. So many more factors than what your final product is, if a camera sucks to use it doesn't matter how it looks. I thought ns was past the phase of "i must buy this camera for my shots to look better" pretty much any new camera you buy these days will produce a great image in experienced hands.

Doesn't this question have an obvious answer?

It's gotta be the Canon 1DC. I mean, 4k RAW? In a DSLR...

Sure, it costs $10k, but...

Buy it here. Do it. You won't. Pussy.

I mean, you're basing your opinion off of one video, you've never used either camera yet you think the a7 is just the best dslr (not a dslr but its okay). Like I said before, there are many more factors that are important when considering a camera and you're basing your terrible opinion solely on one video by philip bloom.

You can be a retard if you want to be, just giving you my two cents.

Seriously, Philip Bloom can make most cameras look fine. Also image quality is just a tiny part of the combination of what makes a good camera. If you don't get the shot it doesn't matter how big your sensor is, you still missed the shot.

If we're talking dslr's Canon has the best in my opinion, the 5D III and the 1D X are incredible cameras. Real expensive but the image and video quality is absurd. For straight video though panasonic has some awesome ones the lumix gh4 can shoot 4k and has full time autofocus.. not to bad.
